For those with TPMS and five tire rotations...

On my 2026, there seems to be a TPMS sensor in the spare wheel. I got another factory Tremor wheel, can't I just transfer the TPMS on the spare onto the new-to-me factory wheel to mount as a spare? Are they different somehow?

I don’t believe they’re different. I ordered four new OEM sensors for my new wheels and tires since I was selling the takeoffs complete. I could only find one part number for the SRW trucks.

Also worth mentioning I did nothing to program them. The truck picked them up on the first drive. The shop that mounted the tires couldn’t have done anything because I dropped the wheels/tires off and hauled them back to my shop in a different truck.

Yes, and we know what you meant: to use as the fifth tire/wheel/TPMS transmitter for your ongoing, every-5000-mile 5-tire tire rotation shed-jule.

You are winning, sir. :ROFLMAO: 🏁

In fact, six months ago (or whenever it was) I had overlooked! my spare tire's steel wheel having a Motorcraft TPMS transmitter in it. If that steel wheel had one, I guess I just gave that away with the wheel to Discount Tire for a break on the dismount/mount onto my fifth Tremor aluminum road wheel.

I had already purchased a TPMS transmitter for installation into my fifth Tremor wheel, therefore I R dume-aische.

This is great news! I don’t have to buy a new tpms sensor…there is already one in the spare on my MY26 that I can swap over. I had not read that anywhere before 👍🏼

I’m doing the exact same thing as @bugeyedmonster1.

The boss said I'm only allowed to get new tires after they all wear down, so I'm doing my due diligence and making sure they are ALL worn down before I order the 37"s lol. I'm planning a short trip from CA - OR - WA and want to make sure I'm all set with the truck before stuff before we take off. Having the spare all set was one of those concerns.

Now, which Discount Tire was the one you went to? :)

Be prepared it'll take 20% longer! lmao.

I go to one way down south of my location by 10 or 11 miles. They're in Torrance, CA. I just take 'em wheels and tires. I never let them chew up my lugs; I do that at home, all by myself!

Yeah, I know that adding the spare to the rotation will mean I have to wait longer, but I plan to change out all 5 tires to a larger size either way.

Late to the party sorry, whenever discount rotates my tires they relearn the sensors. Not sure if it’s necessary but I see them walking around the truck doing it

FYI for everyone. There was NOT a TPMS in my spare. I had to buy one.

2026 Lariat Ultimate Tremor (if it matters)

BTW - I still have a single gloss black factory wheel if someone else needs a single so they too can do a 5-tire rotation. (Willing to ship if needed)

I have a 2020 Lariat Tremor.
is it possible to add a TPMS to the spare and have it work for 5 tire rotation?

Go0gle AI for your year truck's Motorcraft TPMS transmitter part#
Go on Ebay and snatch ye one
Go to tire store
Bingo

Five tire tire rotations! are now your frickin' OYSTER, baby! YEEEAH.

(I strongly believe in the effort to do so and... do so)

P.S. You may if you haven't already have to purchase a matching wheel. The spare is a steel hoop.

Never cloned a TMPS never scanned them just drive the truck and after a bit the truck will recognize them. The truck just recognizes it when you start driving then the spare goes to sleep.

How Sleep and Wake Modes Work

    • Sleep Mode: When the car or RV sits idle for a specific period (usually 10 to 30 minutes), the sensors stop transmitting continuous signals to save battery life. [1, 2, 3]
    • Wake Mode: Motion detectors, accelerometers, or centrifugal force from wheel rotation wake the sensors up when you start driving. [1, 2]
    • Pressure Triggers: A minor or rapid change in tire pressure—such as adding air or driving off—can also trigger the sensor to wake up and transmit live data. [1, 2]
