First Oil Service

I just changed my oil last Saturday. Drove about 220 miles since then.

@Mattlikesbikes is this the first oil change for you? How much time did it take to acquire the 1000 miles??

Give it a chance to run its course, I am confident the rate will slow down. Also FYI just because it says your due it dosent mean you have to stop and change the oil. All that is, is a recommendation, it can wait.
I personally use Motorcraft 10-30 as recommended my Ford, and change every 5k. If I were to use full synthetic I would change every 8k. I do little towing, so don't see the need for synthetic.

FWIW I've been changing my 7.3l at 5k since I got it and has been around 50% oil life at every change with ford synthetic blend. I just recently swapped to mobil 1 full syn will compare oil life when I hit 5k. Not sure like some said how accurate the minder is. Also this might just be a 6.7 glitch.

3K first service for me, and then 5K after. Sometimes I am just under 5K, but I never will go over. I have been bringing it to the dealer each time to work with the warranty (if needed). I typically do the "works" from ford which includes fluids and a tire rotation. Last time they forgot to adjust my pressures.

With respect to maintaining the Ford warranty, do they go by your records that show you serviced at recommended mileage, or do they also have a way to read that you ignored your trucks computer oil life prompt that can say you're due with less than recommended mileage?

Unless you never reset the Oil Change alert.....who's to say they can't read the # of times it's been reset??
Just a theory....:unsure: They sure can read TONS of info off the PCM, not to mention the cell modem that's in most new vehicles these days.
