F250 with high cap tow package = f350?

Yeah, but that's the same document I was alluding to. Tells me my 7.3 350 Tremor with imaginary 17" wheels has a payload of 2042 lbs, including passengers at each seating position. Considering my doorjam sticker say 3875 lbs, I must be destined to carry around a truckload of 367 lb sumo wrestlers, plus eat myself to that same 367 lbs, before utilizing that 2042 lbs of remaining payload capability.

I'm just saying there's a lot of conflicting and odd info out there put out by Ford with regards to payloads and towing capacities. Like they let marketing folks put those documents together rather than engineers or technical writers.

Thats for the 250

The 350 on that chart says 3,373 and +150*4=600 so payload sticker should be ~3973

Maybe we’re looking at different pages or columns, but here’s where I got my figures. The “6” footnote is off the screen, but denotes the Tremor.

And yeah, I know they put it in the 17” wheel category, which is part of why I’m making fun of the whole document.

Don't worry i got you! We are all here to learn together!

Goofy. Not you... the guide.
Totally is It looks like the guy who wrote the chart updated the chart and then asked an intern to put the Tremor package + 10k GVRW sticker combo into the chart but the intern doesn't understand it and so its the only 10K GVRW line on the 350 chart.

The tremor package should read
7.3
3,373(11300 Std GVRW) /2,042 (10k GVRW derate)

I'm on the other side from some of you.

Absent state-by-state variations that create some downsides cost/registration-wise for 3/4 ton versus 1 ton (realize in most states this isn't a thing), there's no logical reason to buy the 250 instead of the 350. Because $1000 more on a $70K-$90K purchase? Come on now.

At the worst case side of the equation lies the 6.7 250 Tremor, which legally (and that's a real thing no matter how much some want to downplay it) is highly-limited in effective towing ability once you fill up the gas tank and throw the whole family in the cab, especially on higher trims and option loads. They have payloads in the low/mid 2000 pound range. Subtract out the weight of a full gas tank and four people in the cab plus all their crap, and you're left with a "heavy duty" truck that has 1200 or 1300 pounds remaining for tongue or pin weight. That's nothing.

I think maybe I'll go put on my flamesuit now for good measure.
No flaming by me, I'm just trying to figure out what 2022 I want to order in the next day or two. Is there any input out there on the fit and finish and different leather between the Lariat vs Platinum?

Platinum is certainly softer and more supple leather, but it's not as if the Lariat leather is garbage or anything. The difference is pretty obvious though. You need to go check out some of both in person before you decide.

My Tremor (I am repeating myself now for the 37th time...sorry)....was built day 2 of Super Duty production 5 November 2019. I didn't even know what I really bought. But after more than a year of ownership...and having this discussion for the 5th or 6th time. We have counted crossmembers, crawled under and photographed suspension part numbers, video'd a 250 7.3 next to a 350 6.7...and on and on....AND on.........

Here is what we found over 1 year. There are 3 differences between a F250 Tremor and a F350 Tremor of the same engine type. The fender Badge, the numbers written on the yellow cargo capacity sticker, and the numbers written on the white GVWR sticker.

There are a couple of differences between a 6.7 and a 7.3. The engine, the front coils, and the trailer hitch.

Those are the facts. I might have missed something between different engines..........but a F250 Tremor is the same Truck as a F350 Tremor.
I need a double like for this post. Spot on.

6.7 has been around a while
You're seriously doing this? Dang if you're not skilled at random 6.7 versus 7.3 tangents. You're level of buy-in into what engine powers your pick-up is pretty amazing.

No one has asked my yet IRL if my truck is a 7.3 or 6.7, but maybe you run with a different set than I do.

You already said you had a 7.3, I was giving you shit. It was a followup to my joke about the same idiot writing the manual and designing the 7.3.

Apparently way over your head it went.
