Looking for extended warranty information.....taking delivery in the next 5-10 days. '22 F250 (Not Tremor) 6.7L, BAP, Lariat, Twin Panel Roof. Thanks in advance!

Is there a benefit to buying it early rather than waiting until the factory one is near expiration? I always wondered in the event of a total loss (God forbid) if you were better off waiting

The benefit of buying early is there are typically price increases to the policies every year. I waited on my GT350 and the price went up almost $2k for the same ESP because issues with engine failure started and Ford wanted to cover their ass. Flood Ford ESP seems to have the best pricing, which is slightly over cost.

I believe most of the plans can be prorated refund if you experience a total loss prior to the end of the warranty. But you have to remember to call and get your money back.

If you purchase beyond 12 months or 12,000 miles you'll pay a $100 surcharge. Beyond 36 months or 36,000 miles is a $200 surcharge. The plans go up in cost yearly so being locked in at a price is beneficial. EIther way when purchasing an ESP your extended warranty coverage begins at the new vehicle warranty start date and zero miles and expires at the earlier of the number of months purchased or the number of miles purchased.

I have been periodically tracking the rates (Sep 2021, Feb 2022, Jun 2022). From Sep to Feb, there was a ~5% increase, then another ~2% increase from Feb to Jun, so a few hundred $$/year, depending on the plan you choose.

I have always heard the earlier you buy the ESP the better (cheaper)
