Do You Remember Your First Ford?

First Ford car was a 1966 Mustang w/289ci,auto tran. Paid $400, totaled it in a rollover and sold for $125 to a company call Masher. The $125 paid my attorneys fees. First Ford truck was a 1960 F-250 with a 292ci, 4-speed with 10 ton PTO winch. It was a beast ! Now 40 model years latter F-350 Tremor Platinum.

Turned 16, and my first car was a 16 yr old Ford Granada! First solo drive, the thing died on me while at my buddy’s house. I miss being able to get beaters for my kids first car. I feel like beaters today are too fancy!

First owned Ford product, 1967 Cougar with 289, auto trans. It was red and very cool to drive around, beat it up for several years and traded it for a new Topaz (🤮) , eventually buying a new 77 Ranchero. Wish I would have kept the Cougar. Oh well...

My first ford and first car was an 85 mustang GT 5 SPD. I sold it before I even got my learner permit and bought an 86 mustang GT 5 SPD. Great times, but I can’t help but wonder what the hell my parents were thinking. 🤔

Also started out with a Granada when I turned 16... except mine was dark brown and a lot newer: only 15 years old! :p The 302 made it fun to drive, but man that thing was UGLY! Bought it for $500, beat the crap out of it for a year, and sold it for $600... those were the days!

Quickly moved on to a 2-wheel drive, long box '86 F150 with the 300-6 paired to a 3-speed manual w/ overdrive... blue/grey two-tone mixed with plenty of rust, so I tore it down to it's bones, painted it yellow, and rebuilt the engine. Wouldn't catch me driving that goofy truck nowadays, but man I loved that thing when I was 16... and learned a lot during the process of making it my own.

1967 F100...straight 6 292. It wasn't much to look at but it drove terrible...

I didn't take any photos of it back in 86, but here's one about like it from the interwebs...

^^^ Now that right there is cool  ^^^

Mine was a 69 F100 Ranger that I bought in 1993. I put a built 390 in it and drove the wheels off it. I had to sell it to get married and help with college. It paved the way for the best things in my life.

This is identical to what I except for 2 things. I had manual locking hubs and did not have a tachometer.

My first Ford was a 1994 Ford Explorer 4x4 Eddie Bauer edition. This was my first vehicle in high school and I had it a whopping six months before it was totaled when a girl in my class t-boned me in the high school parking lot doing 45 mph. It was replaced by my fathers 1996 Mustang Cobra. To this day I don't know what my parents were thinking giving a 16 year old a nearly new hot rod sports car like that at such a young age. Nevertheless it was pretty awesome and cemented my love for Shelby's/Cobra's and it stuck around for almost a year until they took it away after all of the tickets I was racking up. Tell me they didn't see that one coming lol. That Ford was then replaced with yet another Ford, a 1996 Ford Bronco 4x4 Eddie Bauer edition. 1996 was the last year model of the full size Bronco and while it was an absolute gas guzzler fuel was cheap back then.

After those Ford's I moved over to mostly Toyota's and Jeeps for a good while before I purchased another new Ford vehicle. Ever since I have had a myriad of Ford, Toyota and Lexus vehicles and those makes still to this day remain my preferred manufacturers. Some of my favorite Ford's that I have owned include a 1962 Thunderbird Roadster, 1972 Bronco, 2004 Mustang Cobra Terminator, 2010 Roush Stage 3, 2012 Shelby GT500, and a 2014 Shelby GT500. I've done the Raptor thing as well, it wasn't for me. I am now on my fifth Super Duty and aside from these tech issues/growing pains I couldn't be happier. I'd like to add a late model GT500 at some point but it isn't high on the list at the moment.

I learned to drive in my Dad’s 69 Ranger. Straight 6, hand choke, and no power anything.

Wimbledon White 66 Bronco. I6 and 3-on-the-tree.

Hand me down from my dad. Loved that truck! Main reason why I still have Broncos.

1971 Highboy. 390. no power anything

My first was 1995 F-150 reg cab xlt 5.0 v8
Loved that truck

1995 OBS F250 7.3 Single cab long box with a Manual Trans. Bought it from a Local Diesel Shop in town when I was 16. Proceeded to crash it into a tree on our farm a few weeks later(slow speed, but crunched the fender and headlight). Repaired it myself and later ended up selling it for a car before driving it much. Didn't really have a need for a truck back then.
