BuiltRight Rust

Response from BuiltRight:

“Hey Josh, Those look rough! The salt/ road treatment seems to accelerate the corrosion, and a bed cover can be a gift and a curse, as it can trap moisture in the bed, also accelerating the rusting. If you get car washes in the winter, this could be a double whammy, so to speak. BUT! We will get you taken care of. if you could send me one photo of each panel, ill get you replacements sent out!“

Class act as usual. I will ask about the same thing happening or how I can prevent it further.

I do not do winter washes - just find it's a waste of money. I do a nice treatment in the fall and spring.
You cannot ask for better customer service than that!

Glad they're going to take care of you @Vermonster !!

Received my new BuiltRight bed panels. I have been told these new panels have a better powder coating process than the original panels, but also was given some feedback on preventative measures, as well. The old panels are headed back to BuildRight in the same packaging they sent me the new ones in - very pleased with their service. Now I just need to get my butt into the bed and re-install all my panels. lol

Too bad they're not like shark vacuums. Had the top model one go out on my mother in law and they sent us a brand new one without requesting the old one back. 😉

All new panels installed. It feels great to get something done on the truck - one item off my list. Many more to go. Lol.

BuiltRight is a class act. Old panels are headed back this week. New panels are higher quality powder and they do have new notches cut out for bed cover / caps it seems.

A+

Proud of you! Good job getting it done quick!

Working on carving out me time. It's never easy for me.
I think many of us have that challenge. I just barely sent in my BD SAE squadron lights for the upgrade program last week. I think I've had the form and box ready for over a year. They arrived back today, so hopefully I can get them back on the truck quickly.

I may need to do that too.

I just ordered a set of bed panels, FINALLY!🙄 Hopefully their new panels are more durable. Glad to see Builtright step up take care of you.

Talk about setting aside me time. I’m just over four years into owning Big Red and just getting started on accessory installs, some of which I’ve had since before picking up the truck!🫣

I just installed my air bags and the air management system will be mounted to one of the rear panels. A dc/dc charger for the onboard EcoFlow lithium power pack will mount to one of the front panels.

I will have to watch your build thread. - cannot wait! I am thinking bags too - but I have not really dug into that yet. Between work, family events, and weather - it's not simple to find time. lol

Yep, even us retired ones. I still have a front hitch that needs to be installed. 🤷‍♂️ 😂
Huh - I thought you had a winch?

I‘ll throw together a compilation of everything in a few days. I’ve made it my mission to stay on the truck till it’s done. Quite frankly I was loosing track of what I’ve bought what the objective was so now I’m focused.

I’m going to fab up my own front hitch to keep it tucked up in as clean as possible, something else to get done!

Regarding retirement time, that’s the commodity you realize you’re running out of faster than you can manage. I’ve never felt so busy, although I know it’s just my perspective. Weeks pass like days now!😆🇺🇸

Plan is a front hitch on both the Tremor and Wrangler to accommodate a winch, rack, moving trailers around, etc. On my current property the Wrangler will probably see more use due to its mobility. The Jeep does have a bumper that can accept a winch but I would rather have something that can be used on front/rear of either vehicle.

Do you even know what day it is?
My wife retired before me and always told me I would get to that point. I thought she was joking but she was spot on! 😂

On the Oliver travel trailer owner's forum, this is my tag line in my signature:

"What's today?............. the most frequently asked question as a retiree 🙄" 🤪

I ask that question all the time. Mostly because I am always working and the days just run together 🫩

Pretty work sir...
I would have just pulled them and hit them with POR and put them back on...never would have thought to call the manufacturer.
I just assume most companies will tell you f off after 3 months...
Nice to know reputable companies still around.
