I just noticed that my pinion seal on my rear axle is leaking, I am sure this was a result of the lift combined with the off camber flexing at Moab.
Unfortunately, because the truck is lifted, this instantly disqualifies this repair from warranty.
Has anyone replaced theirs on the Sterling 11.6 yet? Just wondering if there are any surprises that I don’t know about.
I have replaced pinion seals before, so I know what to do and how to do it. But these axles are so new that I can’t find any videos on one being changed, so I can only assume everything is the same as other differentials. It looks the same, so I’m not expecting any surprises, but you never know.
I am only replacing the seal (I will mark everything with a paint pen), I am not planning on pulling the whole assembly out and replacing the crush sleeve.
