Apparition, you need to study some aerodynamics. The induction loss is minimal compared to the reduction in drag.
Why do you think home run hitters love to hit in Denver? And aviation speed records are altitudinally annotated.
The SR-71 is a dog below 50,000 feet.
Being an old time racer with turbo vs NA cars, i have done a ton of research and had lots of people with all the fancy letters at the end of their name ( from all race classes) come to almost the same conclusion. While being higher in elevation, you will lose power no matter what, when it comes to motorized vehicles. Response time of the turbo, and lack of drag on the turbo fins, will absolutely not make up for the power loss at altitude when it comes to a set distance value. If I take the truck and run even 60ft times at sea level vs mile high, Sea level will always win ( if reaction times etc are the same), Turbo's help make up for lost power at elevation, but the motor's in our trucks have more then enough displacement and exhaust gas + heat to really get the turbo spinning without much lag. If we were talking about about a 60 trim or bigger, cartridge based turbo in small 4 banger in a 2 liter motor, the argument of how much drag vs spool times would be a bigger discussion. But overall, my opinion would be after the truck moves more than 10ft the turbo will be fully spooled, and the wastegate will be open. Then we can go down all the fun rabbit holes of CFM's, channels, compression, fuel, how to get more exhaust mass to spin the turbo even faster, using a sutterbox launch to help keep the turbo spooled. etc. but these are all racing focused, and not daily driver needs. All depends on the power loss
edited to add this - horsepower and torque values can change with different boost settings, and turbo capabilities. you can use different turbos to different applications to reach the desired affect with a multiple variables. (temp, altitude, humidity, boost pressure, etc etc)
But all being equal on this trucks stock ( with or without the power commander, any further than 10 ft ( and i say that giving a huge margin as i really dont want to calculate the true difference) shouldnt make a difference. i believe we are more in the 3 ft range from an affect standpoint.
