Antenna Delete - OEM Thread Size?

Have a Stubby brand on the 2013 F150 and it only works as good as OEM in large populated areas.

No idea why they couldnt be bothered to put the FM antenna in the rear glass like cars used to do it.

How deep does that brass insert go exactly?
The mount is threaded 3/4" deep. The top of the antenna mount is .5" dia.

Good call. I really like mine and it works great. I put the original whip in the under seat tray in case I ever need it. Takes less than a minute to change them out. 🍻
That's what I did on the F150 too. Currently has a Stubby brand antenna as well. (y)

I do like the button head delete idea though. OCD is a real thing 😩

I'm with ya! Remember it only takes a few seconds to change out, even the button head. You could keep the little stubby in the glove box with a hex wrench in case you are out of cell service.

If it's like a "NORMAL" whip antenna - I plan on just "popping" the ball off the tip, cutting with REALLY BIG SHEARS and a Mallet, putting the ball back on and VOILA! Issue solved. No longer hits the garage door frame. (I've done this on my last 2 trucks and works wonderfully.

Lol, insert the image of a dude swapping from button head, to Stubby brand, to the OEM Ford one after the hunt for good reception 😂

I did that on one of my old trucks. Cut it off about a half inch higher than the cab of the truck. Figured if that hit something, then I should probably stop. With the SD Tremor, it doesn't really fit anywhere, so a stubby it was.
