A/C drain Tube Relocation Kit

@BroncOh what is your process/intervcal for using Klima Cleaner?

Whenever it smells bad, shoot a whole can in the drain extension, with vehicle pointing uphill so the product doesn't flow back out too quickly. To do the whole can, do it in batches so the product can foam up for a few minutes, for each batch.

I just used the Ford elbow from the TSB (forget the part #) and extended it out past the frame with some rubber heater hose from Gates. Makes it handy for shooting a can of Klima Cleaner in there too.

I aint never heard of the klima cleaner - thanks.

but when that vendor is charging walk in customers $10 to pick up at thier place of business is ridiculous.

Cause 95% of their business is mail order/packaging.....not a retail store front. It's not at all unusual. I've had several local businesses that operate that way or refuse to allow "pick-ups" at their location.

It still ridiculous, they wanted $32 to ship to Texas.

$17 to VA or FL. Is there a "West of the Mississippi" tax that is being added??

Guess you can move if you want cheaper shipping. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜 😜

Stupid question, but, where is the drain located? I need to extend mine, can't seem to locate it. Thanks

not stupid at all, it is on the firewall side of the passenger front tire. You have to pull the wheel liner back a tad.

To begin with they want $60.00 for the part and a hose clamp. I sourced a 90° heater hose .75 inch ID and a hose clamp for $22.00 at CarQuest. This so called "mail order/internet" business is second or third teir at best. They don't respond to phone calls or emails. Their shipping rates are designed to pad thier profit margin and the product they sell are at a 100% mark up.

I should probably go find the “A/C stinks” thread (or whatever it was called), but as long as this one is active….

I did the klimaclean thing a year ago and it worked for me. I even made an access hole behind the glovebox to more directly get at the condenser. Fast forward to now and the smell is becoming a problem again. My issue is that I’ve been through THREE cans of the stuff and it still stinks. I did this across a couple weeks since I would realize the smell wasn’t gone and get another can… then another.

Two cans “directly” into the shroud around the condenser (behind glovebox) and the last one up the drain tube (half, wait 20 minutes, next half). Still stinks. Now it’s getting silly that I’m $60 into this. I’m starting to wonder if mold built up in the ducting in the dash.

I might try one more time with @BroncOh suggestion to point the truck uphill and do smaller batches. At this point I’ll also wait till the humidity drops as well.

Everyone ( or should I say many) have a odor issue. My truck has 54k, will be 4yo in April and I guess I'm fortunate as I still have a fresh smell in my truck and a carry my pup just about everywhere. Never used anything in the condenser.

I will add though after I installed the drain tube it seemed the condensation drip was more, but of course it is now directed to exit out the tube and not spread out who knows where.

I went out yesterday afternoon to implement the "LunchBox relocation". I took off the metal cage, seated my trimmed-up heater hose, and clamped it down. Then I took my new can of KlimaClean, but soon realized I couldn't get the spray nozzle hose thingy to get past the bend in the heater hose, so off came the hose.

But it gets better. Get ready to laugh. I pushed that hose up into the drain hole and started to dispense - but then a pop happened and I was spraying my wheel wheel.... THE HOSE SEPARATED FROM THE NOZZLE AND WENT INTO MY DRAIN HOLE. The whole damn thing just went in.... I spent hours out there dreaming up ways to get it back. I went in with needle nose pliers. Nope. I with in with a snake. Nope. I went with a flexible grabber thingy. Nope. I went inside under the passenger foot wheel, removed the blower (PITA), but still don't get clear access to the drain.

So I ordered a cheapo endoscope (prolly good to have one anyways) and with a paperclip and a little patience this morning I fished the SOB out.

Here it is on its way out.

Don’t let this happen to you.

I think you would have made a good gastroenterology physician!!!!

I have not done the Klina treatment as I have not had issues with odor!!
