Wow I didn’t know that! Crazy no leather
I bet it’s due to poor sales on upper trim levels. You can option a lariat to basically a platinum the way it was and pay a lot less. So now you have to go king ranch at a minimum to get leather?
Yup.

This guy takes the long way around the barn to explain it, but he does eventually get there. The 2025s have a 7% price increase in his example, and the truck has been “de-contented”.

Differences Between 2025 and 2025

I definitely would not wait for a 2025 truck when hundreds of discounted 24s are available.

Try condensing your dissertations dudes. Interested in your subject, but way too long to read all this BS.

I’m super happy with my 99% stock 6.7 350 tremor. Just wrapped up 16k from AK to the lower 48 and back pulling my Boreas XT teardrop. Completed the Western Native Trout Challenge expert/advanced level and Wyoming Cutt Slam for those familiar. Several thousand miles of fire roads of various conditions. Went everywhere I needed it and never felt like I needed larger tires. I did replace the tires with AT3 and new bilstein 5100s before heading back north because I killed both tires and shocks.

Best thing for taking these trucks off road is airing down. I was happy with 30 psi all the way around.

Other petinent info:
Lariat ultimate with 360 cams
Carpet delete
Upfitters
Backflip MX4
Built right dash mounts for phone and inreach

Dude some awesome feats in one trip, congratulations! You got a really clean rig!

I think everyone pretty much nailed with everything for a best all around rig for off-road.

Let's be honest, a gasoline engine is so much more responsive at slow speeds than a diesel engine ever will be and that is what you are doing when off pavement......For the obvious reasons we all already know of and the Godzilla is a monster engine with tons power.

As far as trim levels adding weight - everyone forgot what the most hated "feature" on our trucks is for the most part (which by the way, none of us have yet to understand why auto makers still keep offering it!!) The 5 ton glass sitting on the cabin for those with the 470 degree dual pane sunroof!

If this is one thing I could have deleted from my oder package, I would have but it was part of the King Ranch Ultimate Package then and if you wanted OEM LED headlights, you had to have this too.

My sun roof has been fine so far (fingers crossed) but boy does that thing makes noises and adds about 19 tons of unnecessary weight to our rigs.

I also think it makes our cabins hotter in the summer but that's not topic here.

Is it a nice feature to have when you're out enjoying cool temps? Yes, my family enjoys it but I'm driving and can never look out of it if I need to be looking out the windshield.

WNTI is a dream of mine!!! I’m registered and have caught a handful of them in WY but living on the east coast it’s difficult.

I am actually debating a couple trips this coming year where I fly to Cali or AZ and camp out of a rental and just fish solo.

If you don’t mind I might reach out on a PM to get more info from you…. This is literally one of my main life goals as I’m obsessed with native trout…. Congratulations!!!!

Thank you! I did it solo ish. Just the dog and I for four months. My wife flew down and met us every few weeks. Hit me up any time. Be happy to share some info.

Wow, you did it in one sitting???? That’s even more incredible!!!!!! If i could take off 6 months i would 100% do the same. Literally my biggest bucket list item at this point in my life. I’ll definitely be reaching out. TY.

For serious offlroading the gas is the only real choice. There's a reason the real Ram Power Wagon doesn't come in diesel, the 6.4 weighs 600lbs less than the Cummins, and weight makes a massive difference on trails. The idea of a heavy pickup off roader is ridiculous to begin with, so you need every advantage you can get if you're seriously going to overland or whatever with these things, you have the right idea with weight savings. The trim doesn't matter much as far as reliability goes, maybe a little in weight. You could do some lift with some big big tires and make it work in Moab, but it's just makes a lot more sense to use the Super Duty to trailer a CJ or 2 door Wrangler to do serious offroad work. But fire roads and groomed trails that can accommodate the wheelbase and width, you're on the right track.

So I don’t see this discussion come up a lot however if you were building the “ultimate” truck for someone who spends their life hunting/fishing/offroad; how would you option it? I’ve been trying to decide and this is what I’ve come up with.

XLT Trim- All the additional comforts of the higher trims only add weight and reduce reliability. Halogens are easy to replace, they produce heat reducing ice buildup in the cold and Baja designs kits exist for a reason.

Tremor Package- I plan on a Carli pin top so the lift isn't the star here. What does shine is the fact that the tremor includes the sterling 11.6 rear axle, 4.30 gears, front lockers and TTA. The other goodies like running boards, valence, and vents are nice but easy to add to a non tremor.

Engine- 7.3 gas. I don’t want this to be a debate between gas and diesel. We all know the 6.7 is ungodly powerful. But the 7.3 is a lot more simple. No turbos or EGR to randomly leave you stranded or in limp mode with a fresh kill in the bed. Also as mentioned above the gas and diesel tremors are essentially the same truck (10 speeds, sterling axles, linkage, frame, ect.). If this truck was built to withstand the abuse of a 1200 lb-ft TQ HO 6.7 then they are completely overbuilt for the less torquey 7.3 only adding to the reliability factor. Not to mention the advantages of a front end weighing 800lbs less in snow/mud.

Add ons- factory winch, GFC Topper (no RTT), Baja fogs and likable lightbar kit, Carli pintop, 37” Falken RTs, fold up sleeping platform in bed.

Now I feel like I have to mention, if I had asked what truck to pick to tow around the country and be a highway cruiser it would without a doubt be a higher trim CCLB with the 6.7 HO. There’s a purpose for everything and I’m talking about a specific use here. The only towing would be a goose trailer, sled trailer, or atvs.

I think Ram was onto something with the power wagon offering. It’s a light 3/4ton Offroad beast but the heavy Cummins would make its suspension impossible. A setup like this would essentially be fords power wagon but with higher payload, more power, better suspension, and overbuilt.
Carpet delete is a must IMO. I did that with my '21 Tremor 7.3, and so glad I did. It so easy to vacuum out dirt with a cordless hand vacuum, and I'm not afraid to get in the truck with muddy boots. Mine is Lariat trim with leather, which I like, but I don't like the upgraded B&O sound system that came with it because the extra sound equipment is mounted behind the back seat and takes up valuable storage space. With XLT, I don't think that sound upgrade is even an option (at least it wasn't in 2020).

I recommend that you use it for a while, and go off-roading, before you get all the Carli suspension stuff. You might find that the factory lift and suspension is adequate, other than maybe just a shock upgrade. There are some great shocks out there that are an improvement over the factory shocks but still half the price of the Carli's. I have taken my Tremor onto some scarry ass trails in Colorado, all with mostly factory suspension and hauling a Hallmark camper, and I came out the other side just fine. Don't fall prey to youtube videos that make it sound like the Carli stuff is a must, because it's not. I did put a Hellwig rear sway bar on, which made a huge difference when hauling the camper.

i thought i posted on here about how i like diesel over gas. However, you and others posts about weight passes the logic test.

this is one thing i'm happy with on my truck - no sunroof. The Lariat Ultimate allowed for this. I didnt order my truck. I just got lucky on finding it.
One thing i did wish i had was the 360 cameras. Honestly dont need all of them, just would like the CHMSL and front cameras.

I've seen one guy on FB claim he knows how to retrofit a non360 truck to have a front camera using the Sync4 but havent followed up with him on it to see if rubber has actually met the road.

Well that’s interesting…. My poor man pheasant XLT has 360 cameras…. I’m with you on the sunroof NO WAY!!! It’s not as hot where I live but I definitely don’t need a rattle prone piece of glass perched above my head.

I went gas for the exact reasons listed, 600lbs lighter over the front axle and as @Chris-DTA has mentioned those of us who dream of international travel gas is kind of a must. You are SOL with a modern diesel in central/ South America.

I definitely would like the mileage advantage of a diesel but it just didn’t make sense for my use.

I guess the 360 cameras were an option on Lariat Ultimate or the guy who built out my truck opted not to get them (b/c thats what he did with the roof)

Fuel is a great point. Gotta be able to get clean fuel.

I love the 360 degree cameras. I have used mine on the new rig zero times so far. But it gives me bragging rights. :p :ROFLMAO:

I hunt/fish out mine all year.
'21 Lariat with a winch.
Put the 58 gallon gas tank in and a retrax bed cover on it thats it. Everytime i think about getting a GGC platform topper I need to haul something thay would require me to take it off....probably taken a few places that were a little too tight..Got some NM, WY, MT, WV, pen stripes and NC/SC sand everywhere else...

Haha. I love mine!!!! 10000% true story we met up with some friends on our way to ExpoEast this year. They picked quaint little town with a cool spot to eat. Well it was a downtown with street parking. I parallel parked my truck and camper 100% using the cameras…. Long story short when we walked in a couple literally started clapping for me (they were sitting in the front window watching) and couldn’t believe I could park “that huge truck” in a spot without hitting anything. I just laughed….

FWIW my truck is pretty big!

But the cameras are integrated into the camper too. The rear stairs were really my only worry as they stick out a bit but I can see it pretty well with the camera.

Hey! What kind of camera do you have on the back of the camper?
