Huh?- I had a 2001 F150 with the 5.4 Triton. I was dreading changing the plugs on it for over a year. When I finally did, I learned that they had already been changed out by the previous owner. I had prepared myself to do major surgery to get the broken ones out, luckily I didn't have to..
So why did I have so sign the broken plug waiver, bring my '12 Expedition the day before and they charged me 1500 for plug change at 100k?Huh?
The plugs on that engine were never a problem to change.
They would occasionally liberate themselves, but the bad ones to change were the early 3 valve motors .
Your 2 valve version was by all accounts an excellent unit.
It bothers me that Ford uses the same name for multiple engines this is one example why.
That bs is why I traded in my 04 with 98k miles. I chose to trade it in and use the plug money for extra down. Asked the Service Manager that I had been using for years what it would cost. Plugs were $20 each, total with labor would be about $800. Asked him what happens if a plug split/broke and he said the price goes up. F'thatSo why did I have so sign the broken plug waiver, bring my '12 Expedition the day before and they charged me 1500 for plug change at 100k?
The mods will silently delete them if they're bad enough. Ask me how I knowI guess my meme wasn't crude enough to stick...smh...I am done here.
This is what I think of censorship:The mods will silently delete them if they're bad enough. Ask me how I know
But, this isn't an airport![]()
Because in the post i was responding to.... the only vehicle you referenced was your 2001 f150.So why did I have so sign the broken plug waiver, bring my '12 Expedition the day before and they charged me 1500 for plug change at 100k?
POS???? My '12 Expy had 275k on the clock when I sold it for 8k..original transmission and motor...had to put a water pump on it at about 150k, besides gen maintenance.Because in the post i was responding to.... the only vehicle you referenced was your 2001 f150.
Not your 2012 Expedition. My 2013 Expedition's 5.4 was a pos too.
I believe you may have gotten them mixed up. the 2001s were very reliable, aside from the occasional stripped plug thread. 15 minute fix with proper tools
