2024 MY Super Duty Order/Schedule/Build Thread

Hello all, first post and super excited to be here. I just placed my first online order today and am super excited for the long wait. My dealer shared the Build Sheet and asked me to sign, which I did and he then said the order was submitted. Seems to be pretty anticlimactic for placing an order for a $75k truck! Nothing other than an email from the dealer saying "it has been submitted".

My question for this group, do you typically receive any kind of email confirmation or anything confirming that the order has been placed by Ford? I do have a ford account linked to my name and contact information and the order isn't showing up there either. I'm assuming this all takes time anyway, but would just like some way to confirm the order is in. Would appreciate any insight on what I can (or can't) expect to see.
My last two trucks I got an email within seconds of signing and emailing the order sheet

Thanks for the reply, dealer just texted me when I inquired about order number (ford chat said the order number was currently linked to an order from April 2023) saying “I need to wait for ford to confirm the order, I’ll let you know when it’s approved”

Does this seem legit and does ford recycle order numbers?

Order numbers are 4 characters picked by the dealer. A dealer could reuse order numbers.

As HBTFD stated, the order number is specific to the dealer and is not assigned by Ford. It is one of the fields associated with your order in the Ford system though. It's one of the attributes Ford chat will ask for if you contact them for status. The "Sales Code" is the number I believe that Ford assigns. My dealer made me sign a Preview Order which had all of this info on the document I signed. I had an email from Ford minutes after the dealer received it and then entered the order with Ford. It was a confirmation email with the dealer assigned order number, dealer name, vehicle year and model. The dealer response seems a little "off". It certainly could be lack of knowledge on your salesperson's side though.

Ask your dealer to send you a copy of the DORA.

Can anyone shed some light on “SIMS creation in the next 2 weeks”

Does this mean orders not receiving build dates in the next 2 weeks result in SIMS creation. Whatever that is
Which forum provides these updates?

Good luck tomorrow to all you waiting for scheduling emails…mine on the other hand is pretty frustrating in that my truck went into production on 11 Jan (scheduled 22 Jan) and is still in production…2 weeks? Really? I read on a blog that it takes about 16 hours to build a super duty…now I get that it is not realistic to think the thing would be done in a day or two due to holiday, lunch breaks, coffee, meetings, or the freaking forever smoke breaks…but not 2 weeks…c’mon folks…anyhow, the other wait continues…

My truck showed in production 3 weeks before my scheduled build week, granted it was during the Christmas/New years break at KTP. If 1/22 is your build week, I think you might be getting the built email by Saturday morning. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, my wife says I’m being a little biatch about the wait…I had high hopes when started 11 days early from build week…I lost my way it appears - I forgot we are only pawns in this scheme and must wait an eternity to get our desired item…no seriously, I can wait as I know others have also had this drag on…I was also hoping to graduate to the “What have you done to and with your Tremor lately” forum…gonna be another minute…

My wife > me...same...LOL Yup had the same thing happen. scheduled production 1/8 and on jan 1st got the email saying it was in production. Took until Jan 9 to actually be "in production" then the built status was Jan 10. Then it also said ship status Jan 10th and I've been waiting ever since. The estimated arrival to Granger Ford keeps shifting out. Originally the eta was Jan 23-Feb 1st now it's Jan 31st-Feb 13th. Letting you know the waiting to be built is just the middle of the waiting game :)

I think your truck did make it through the normal production line in about 18 hours. You're probably waiting on the other accessories you've ordered that must be put on by the accessories folks. I'm sure they have different production times and lines to take care of. That would be my guess. The latest Long McArthur SuperDuty video talked about which accessories are not on the normal production line. It could be the exterior alarm or winch (if these are being installed there and not at your dealership). Obviously I don't know for sure. Or it could just be it's done and waiting for a rail car or the software to update the status. Maybe it's already on the back lot of the dealership.

“In production” begins when your truck is assigned a rotation number. Usually it’s a week of so before the truck is built. Several reasons why it could be held up, quality hold in paint, body or predelivery. Could be a parts constraint issue before or during the build. Could be a simple as an IT glitch and the truck is on the way to your dealer.

Haha. My arrival to granger says Feb 1 - Feb 14!

Anyone get the long-anticipated notice today, that you're scheduled for production? I was really hoping for it today... ordered way back on 8/11.

Negative. Still playing the waiting game and hoping it gets here before my 180 day window is up to claim the trade-in for tax purposes on my old car.

Didn’t get it either.
I did go ahead and placed a deposit on an out of state dealer’s build that is scheduled for 3/18. Can’t continue with this insane wait…

I would bet my local dealer order will get pushed to MY25.
As per usual, they have been less than helpful through the entire process. Getting info from them has been impossible.

I holding out hope for a notification in Feb/March but from what I've heard, Ford is only producing about 18,000 SD's in March versus the 30,000 they typically produce. That's about 60% of the normal production which concerns me.

Is this so they can have a re-tool at the factory for any Job 2 orders? I thought (probably wrong) that Job 2 production starts in April. Job 1 in October (just adding 6 months gets me April). I bet the factory workers get a break too (per their new contract)
