2023/24 Super Duty wishes? What are yours?

- Ditch the old school gear shift. Give me a dial or powered lever that's out of the way. Doesn't smash my knuckles when shifting.
- A place for phone (visible to use Waze) that doesn't require a janky 3-party phone holder.
- Less spine-jarring rear suspension without negatively affecting the payload/towing capabilities.
- Full rubber or carpet-delete option.
- Ditch the door sill lock push/pulls.
- Smaller key fob or wallet card.
- Ability to have door handle set to open driver door only but with a second action open all — like press lock button at same time? It's the only unlocking option that doesn't allow for that—that I've found.
- A place for the gas cap (diesel, anyway) to be held when filling. Even just a magnet. That tether is garbage.
Carpet delete exists. I have it on my '22 pending order.

Personally I don't care since I have a 2022 on order. I had ordered a Tremor 2021 right at the cut off date but changed it to 2022 non-Tremor...oh know I'm on the wrong forum now.

Anyway I really like the Heads Up Display in my car. I wish they had in on the truck I have on order.

Pretty sure them's fighting words! :ROFLMAO:

Personally I love mechanical feel of the column shift, but I can see why you would prefer a dial or similar.

1. all color options on all trim levels
2. have built in Nav available on all trim level instead of connected navigation only unless you get platinum or limited
3. please put a grab handle above the two front doors, at least the passengers door because they grab the one on the pillar and now I can’t use the side mirror. This should be a standard safety item.
4. Blindside monitor should also have a chime go off with the flashing light when blinker on and a vehicle in the blind spot.
5. Have the two tone paint option on all trim levels
6. a bigger fuel tank option on the diesels
7. a different axel ratio option on the F450 other than 4.30

^^ This ^^
(although, my wife does need the existing one just to get in the truck, but while in, the overhead handle would be more favorite)

  • Lower the bed rails and overall truck height
  • Shorten the truck a bit so it'll fit in most standard garages
  • Replace the column shifter with a full electronic rotary dial on the center console
  • Larger front bumper valance for better fuel economy
  • Ditch the laminated door glass
  • Shrink the side mirrors
  • Keep the larger screen Sync 3
  • Maintain the round design cues from the new F150. Heck, make it all bubbly like the Taurus in the mid-90s
  • Make the all-digital dash standard across all trim levels, and use extra tall comic sans font for everything
  • Dump the diesel for a Godzilla gas/electric hybrid powertrain

... In other words, don't make it awesome. I don't need to be spending another $70-80k on a new truck anytime soon.?

  1. Bigger gas tank
  2. Better location for wireless phone charger
  3. All three rear seats fold up individually instead of 2 on driver's side together. When we travel with two kids and two dogs, wish the middle could be folded up only
  4. Maybe cylinder deactivation for the 7.3l or the hybrid idea (get creative to increase gas mileage)

Desired changes:

1) Manual shift transfer case (I know a handshaker transmission is probably out of the question because of the torque that the 6.7 develops but it'd be fun to have one if they could pull it off). Not sure how they'd make this work with the center console but I assume they'd figure it out.

2) Lie flat seats - helps with the car naps.

3) Go back to the pre-2020 ride height (it looked just right with the 18" wheels).

4) Add the numerical readouts at the top of the gauges like people do with ForScan.

5) Find a way to add the DEF and Trans temperature gauges to the default view, so you don't have to look at these gauges as one of your options.

6) As an addendum to item #5 above, add a readout (just a XXX% readout vs. a gauge) for Exhaust Filter Loading and Oil Life.

7) Add a temperature gauge (with XXX Degrees F above the top) for EGT. This would help us know when it's OK to shut the engine down...and I want the inside of the truck to look like the cockpit of a commercial aircraft.

*** So basically, I am asking for three additional gauges + two percentage readouts to be added. Not sure how they'd do this. It would probably call for a major redesign of the cluster but damn it I want my shiny displays!!

8) Switch the phone and radio buttons on the steering wheel so they match my 4Runner.

9) Bring back wing windows! I am serious.

10) Sleeker headlights would be nice. I am not a fan of the giant headlights that people are using. Just don't do what GM did...

11) A little less rake on the front windshield would be nice...I like the old school truck look.

Everything else is just fine with me.

- I LOVE the styling of the metal, and I really like the grille too. The styling (and the fact that my old 2002 became worth a fortune and my X plan) is what caused me to upgrade to the 2021.

- I like the fact that we still have some analog gauges. I was not too fond of the glass cockpit at first but I like the ability to switch to different views. I think Ford got it right (subject to items 5 and 6).

- I like that we still have lots of push buttons and switches vs. everything integrated into a giant touch screen.

- I LIKE THE PHYSICAL GEAR SHIFT. My Dad's 1964 Belvedere had a push button transmission. No thanks.

I really think Ford NAILED IT with the 2021.

Just don't do what GM did...
I really have no idea how that redesign made it past the modeling phase. IMO that front end is one of the ugliest vehicle (not just truck!) front ends in history.

It does look slightly better in person than in pictures. But slightly better than horrendous is still pretty much horrendous.

I couldn't agree more. The new GMs are horrendous and these Fords really look great. Hats off to the Ford designers!
