2021+ Ford Tremor Wish List

At first I thought that was something I was going to miss as well, but having said that....

I haven't had the opportunity to fully test in situations where it matters, however, from a bad snow storm we got a couple weeks ago with 14" of snow that melted and iced up the roads pretty good I found the "Slippery" drive mode just as effective driving on ice and mixed ice/dry roads. There's a particularly badly crowned road I have to turn out on and in 2WD Slippery mode I had no problems whatsoever. Felt like it really put the power to the ground where in the 4A in my '13 F150 seemed to bog down more instead of get you moving. That and it was LOUD in my F150 although I think most of that was from the traction control.
We haven't had snow yet, but winter is coming. And that is exactly where I used 4A a lot on my old truck. I'll have to give the Slippery mode a shot when the time comes. Thanks for the heads up on its potential effectiveness.

I used slippery mode on these iced roads with a bit of fresh powder. It definitely smooths out the pedal response but was a problem in the mountains as I couldn't get enough throttle to maintain speed so it would downshift fairly hard which defeats the purpose of the mode.

A bigger multifunction screen and better cameras. My wife’s car has much, much better camera views.

this pisses me off that my 2012 f150 with a 150 w inverter can charge my power tool batteries but my 2020 400w 80k truck can't.... pissed ... i am going to install a second on under the seat once this year is over

Everything I have ever plugged in has worked for me.

Far and away the biggest wish item would be factory RHD. That would save me maybe $75,000.

After that, I’d love a console mounted gear lever and a conventional hand operated hand brake. Sharpen up the steering, and a slightly wider rim package. A mounting point for a second spare somewhere in the tub. An effective dust sealing kit for the tub when using a canopy. Optional extra long range fuel tank say 230 litres. Factory bull bar. Finally, the biggest brakes you can fit under an 18” rim.

There may be more, but that’s all I can think of for now

Orange and yellow look sweet in the Tremor. You have to order 5 fleet all the same

It already has special wheels and tires.

SuperCab was my main thing. This is the first full size Limo (Crew Cab) I have every owned. Seems like if Ford is marketing an off-road truck, wheel base should be a consideration.

And console shift. Column shift remind me of my 1989 S-10 Blazer. Come on Ford! This is the first column shift vehicle I've had since 1998. Seriously?
I actually MUCH prefer the column shift. The console shift is useless and takes up valuable storage. The column shift gets the shift lever out of the way and allows me to use the console for all kinds of snacks, drinks, storage, etc. I'm not saying the console shift is bad, and I'm fine if it was an option for people who wanted it... but, I would be pretty sad if the column shift was completely replaced. Now you have me curious - what do you prefer about the console shift?

Yes, it should be an option. Console shift is far more direct and less cumbersome. Column shift is stiff, so it’s easy to go past where you want the lever to be. So far more tactile and ergonomic. Especially if you want to manually do upshifts or downshifts, although paddles would be far better again in this regard

I used to find the column shift difficult to select the right “spot.” However, I’ve since learned that you don’t have to specifically place it in drive. Instead you just pull it out of park and kind of slap/push it down. It’ll auto stop in the drive gear. This eliminates the issue of going past where you want to be. So I’m my case, it was essentially user error. Once I learned how to properly use the column shift, I don’t think I’ve ever selected the wrong gear since.

My wish list would be:
a physical button for heated steering wheel
a front selectable locker instead of LSD (not that i need it but i just want to say i have it)
more paint options instead of the same ol same ol year after year (i miss the old eddie bauer green)
Dark brown interior instead of that light parchment color
cooled rear seats
rear middle seat heating and cooling
factory compound turbo for a million horse ponies and torques

...cooled rear seats
rear middle seat heating and cooling...
See, my wife chastised me for spending $300.00 for the rear seat heat, "Why you spending that, its not like you're ever gonna sit back there!"

I've got kids. I preheat their seats when I pick them up from school. They love it!

That is who I was thinking of also, but they are 17 and up and currently rubbing Mom the wrong way, hence her comment.

They definitely will at that age. Thankfully we still have younger ones that are sweet and less annoying

It is more of a problem finding reverse. And when using gears to slow, just nicer to use. If something isn’t easy to use straight up, then it isn’t engineered right.

I see your point for sure. I guess I just value the console area more for storage. My wife says I’m a squirrel ? ?

Yes, I do like storage. But as a mate of mine once said, you will always find enough junk to fill up anything, and I had to admit she was right. ?
