Tires Just Delivered - Weird shape

Tires should not be stacked. I know people do stack them but they are not supposed to be. Especially given the weight of the bigger sizes.
Geez maybe you should call them. Looks like they didn’t get the memo…

Ordered it from Tire Buyer. Would be crazy if it’s the same tire…
I ordered (4) 37 12.50 17 RT Trails from them a while ago. Mine came the exact same way. 1 tire was convex. It looked like it had never been mounted so I took a chance. I had a vibration and had the tires road force balanced. Turns out the odd tire had a defect. I new it was the odd tire because it had a marking on it similar to the white triangle on yours. Unfortunately I had ordered it through Amazon and they would only return all 4 tires. These were impossible to get at the time so I found a new one elsewhere and had it replaced. Now I have a full size spare. I would never buy from them again. I feel like they ship these out hoping that the inconvenience of returning will make people just live with it.

Tires shipped from overseas can be deformed to fit in a smaller space. I had ATV tires that were crazy deformed to fit in a smaller space. Took them two weeks in the sun to deform back to their original state.
Cheers 🍻
P.s. buy USA
I bought new fronts for my lawn tractor on Amazon. They were crazy balled up. Very challenging to get them inflated (tubeless).

I buy all my tires from them

I buy all my tires from them

Walmart do not sell Toyo AT3 37/12.50/18. If they did i would have went that route too.

Amazon sells them though, but they immediately sell out of this size in few hours once they become available.

I assume you ordered from tire buyer via amazon?

I ordered straight from Simpletire. When i asked them to return the odd tire they asked for a letter from installer so that they can file a claim with toyo. I pushed back on it, as it is not what their policy stated and they immediately backed down and sent me a return label. About 5 days later i had a replacement delivered.

I recently purchased two sets of tires from Simpletire and both experiences were good outside of this one odd tire which they rectified. Getting over 15% off on both sets is a good deal. I would deal with them again. Seems like this convex tire deal is a toyo problem.

Super, super interesting. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Tire buyer already processed an order for a replacement. They said I’ll have it by Wednesday next week. I just sent them pictures of the defective tire. That’s it. They haven’t asked me to return the defective one yet….if they don’t I’m going to mount it and use it as a spare.

That would be awesome if they just let you keep it. I plan to throw a spare into my rotations, purchased a 5th tremor rim for it, will rotate it “in” every 1-1.5k miles.

Hope so too. I don’t know if I’ll throw mine into the rotation but would be nice to have a full size spare for off the grid hunting/fishing trips

I have had very tough time with 37s before, nitto ridge grapplers were impossible to balance, after 2 road force balances with no success i got rid of them. If one wants to take a chance on it, it’s your money and time. I was happy to send it back, especially after someone who does this for a living said he wouldn’t trust it on his truck.
nittos are some of the best tires for balancing.

IMO the tire in question would be fine. Once its mounted and inflated on your rim the tread will center itself over you rim. If the tire had issues after it was mounted it could still be sent back unless the installer ripped the bead when mounting. In that case, it would be on the installer to make it right. If it had a creased bead, that would be a concern...

The bigger the tire the more weight it takes to balance. Anyone installing tires over probably 33" should expect either a lot of balancing weights, possible shakes and or vibrations at various speeds and tire noise. They might be smooth, they might be quiet and they might not be. After you have a number of miles on them they will all wear and all get louder. To help reduce this, rotate often - like every oil change.

IMO don't buy a F350 class truck, install bigger tires and expect it to ride like a Caddy.... (not saying anyone in this thread has these expectations)

Every tire warehouse I've ever seen had their tires stacked...
