Rodd187 Build Thread

How much does she sell them for? Im all for rewarding someone for figuring out how to make a good product.
Ha thanks man, she sold the first set to @Dented for $35 shipped. He was gracious enough to help a 13 year old get her business up and running!

As luck would have it, I happen to have the very set his daughter sold. They fit beautifully, and I'm absolutely thrilled with them!
Thank you for the kind words my friend!

How can you take my money to help this young lady get her business off the ground? Lol

I was able to wrap up my Banks I-Dash project yesterday which was started back in May. The double pod mounts have been on backorder but well worth the wait. They do require drilling a hole in the A-pillar but the hole is covered by the mount. Very well designed!

One last weekend project, installed the DPF shield from Talon's Garage. I painted it with the same high temp header paint I used on my exhaust tips to help it blend in. Thanks @Talon2006 for a high quality well made product!

Already on it and gearing up for college football!

How long was the install time? (aka, how many beer project)?

How do you see the paint holding up over time compared to sending it out to get power coated? I imagine both would be prone to getting chipped off by debris hitting the shield. Curious if one versus the other would last longer or be easier to maintain.

I would say about a 3-4 beer project. It was fairly straightforward, the shield does not ship with any instructions and the instructions posted online are decent but do lack some details. I had to mock it up and make some adjustments as I went. The hardest part was doing it with one set of hands especially with two dogs jacking with me as I was under the truck. Took about 2-3 hours yesterday assembling, installing brackets , and painting. I allowed it to dry overnight and put them on the truck this morning.

Tough to say on the paint, for me I simply wanted then to blend in when viewing from the side. I used the high temp paint I had on hand and can always touch up if needed. I am not a heavy off roader so can't see it being a big problem for me. I know it will catch chips but if I can't see them from the side, I am not overly worried about it. My exhaust tips have held up well and look as good as the day I painted them. Who knows, I guess time will tell.

Yeah, it seems like it would be a challenge doing it by yourself. Too bad the girls can't lend pop a hand with truck projects 😝

I think we need to organize two different types of meet-ups... one for play and one where we get together to help each other install mods.

Right on brother, I am in for sure!

Added bedside decals from Signville along with a scaled down version to the tailgate

Still undecided on this one but since I had an extra sticker from Signville, decided to place it above the windshield to see what it looks like. I will keep it on until I make a decision or someone tells me it looks stupid.
