Project HeyFool

Didn't help that I decided to take the truck into some muddy trails before doing this install haha

They look even better in person. The clear lights are great. I will try to get a picture of them in the dark this week.

Completed my next install of my flush mounted rear bumper lights. I went with Baja Designs Amber Squadron pros and wired them to my upfitter switch.

Will post photos of the lights in action later. This install took me around 6 hours. Took my time cutting out my new trucks bumper. That was stressful, but I have done this before on my F-150 so I wasn't as nervous. The wiring was hard to get it to work for a longer truck. Also bolting the lights to the bumper was kinda tight for my hands. I actually lost 2 nuts that I had to use a wall camera to find inside my bumper that I dropped.

For anyone curious for this install. I used the following items for this install.
I had to do 2 of the 10 ft extensions for me to make it with the wiring wrapping back up to the engine bay nicely. Using only one from the rear bumper would have been hard and looked really shitty.

Excellent job ..

Went with Baja Designs Fog light kit. I went with the SAE Ambers that will be wired to my factory fog light switch and then the clear for the inner lights that are connected to an upfitter switch. This install was a little more time consuming, but worth it. I real like the end result. Will post that next. View attachment 109201

The Dewalt 20 volt Impact wrench made this job a lot easier and had no issues removing the bumper bracket bolt
Looking nice man (y)
Best,

I like what you have done to your truck!!! What front license plate bracket did you go with to work with the winch?

Thanks!

It was the one through Ford called
Genuine Ford Front License Plate Relocation Bracket. The part number is LC3Z-17A385-BA

I got it through LevittownFordParts.com

Started my next lighting install. I am adding Baja Designs XL80s with Amber rock guards to my a-pillars with a mount by SDHQ. They will be wired to a upfitter switch. Got my mounted installed but waiting for the lights to be delivered.

(Side note: be careful with the hood bolts. I dropped one and had to fish it out. Wasted a lot of time)

Added my Baja Design XL80s to my pillar mounts. I decided to go with the driving / wide corning combo clear lenses and amber rock guards. I wanted the option to have both clear and amber from recommendations from others. Installed them in a Target parking garage to stay out of the rain.

Got another install done today. Went with the Built Right Industries bedside rack system. So far I just mounted my shovel to it. I will be mounting my axe and hi-lift jack soon. I also have a Starlink mount that I will add it it for camping/remote working.

Is the rear bumper plastic on these trucks ?

How do you like the XL 80 setup and resulting light output intensity and quality? Are you experiencing any glare on the hood as others have mentioned? I’ve been thinking of doing the same setup just haven’t pulled the trigger yet

I absolutely love it. I have no glare and the output is excellent. I will try to get some photos and maybe a video of it this weekend. I used to have a curved light bar above my windshield on my old F-150 and would have lots of hood glare. The 2 XL80s put out just about the same amount of lumens as my old light bar, but without the glare. (To be fair my last truck was white and my F-350 is gray so that might help with the glare a little bit)

Overall, I would absolutely buy these and install them again. I don't think I need any more lights on the front now.
