Insensitive? Somewhere, a Millennial is sitting in their safe space, having a good cry, eating avocado toast, and petting his man bun and therapy puppy because of your post.I like the 23s and I have ordered a 2023 F 350 Tremor Lariat. Did the new design jump out at me immediately like when the 17s came out, no it did not. But some of the new design I do like...to me its almost like they took the truck from the 90s (which was awesome) and modernized it. It is different from the current trucks we have which are awesome, but I do also like the 2023s and anxious to get mine.
Concerning the bed step and bumper step though, while I do see the practicality of it, it definitely hurts the look and clean appearance of the truck. Ford could offer a "bed step delete option" and charge for it and probably make a lot of extra $. I currently stand one foot on the tire and one foot on the running boards to reach up and over the bed side. I remember always looking at the bumper on chevy trucks and wondering why if a guy could step to the lower part of his bumper, why he couldn't just lift his foot 3 inches higher and step on the top of the bumper??? Am I just insensitive to little people out there that need the 3 inch lower bumper step?
I'm 6'-1" and am looking forward to the steps. Age has a way of changing one's perspective on the need for things like bed steps. I will not lower my running boards or get the electric ones though. A man has to draw the line someplace.
A factory delete seems overly complicated for a company that says they're trying to streamline the options offered. I foresee an aftermarket side step delete with a color matched panel and lockable compartment in that space being useful for some. It might even work for the bumper corners.
