22 Black Bear šŸ» Build

Iā€™m not sure if this is the correct part or not but this looks like this will work to connect the arb air hose to the pressure controller. Or maybe I accidentally bought a smaller size pressure controller by accident

Oh shoot. Youā€™re right. Iā€™m sorry I was not paying close enough attention earlier.

The 1/4 npt was to connect to my air tank. The jic to bsp works to connect the air hose to the pressure control module. Iā€™m sorry I mislead you!

Also, for your signal wire thatā€™s connected to your ARB do you only have the 14g yellow wire connected to the plug or did you also add a ground to the plug like the ARB plug has?
No ground in the plug. All you need is the single 12v power signal to trigger the compressor to turn on. This is the yellow wire that goes from the plug to the upfitter switch.

The part I used was this one:

ARB ADAPTER 1/8 BSP (M) JIC-04 (M) 2PK

All good. I just wanted to get some clarification so I donā€™t mess up this install haha.

is there a way to take the purple and black wires out of the Delphi plug that came with the ARB and reuse the plug with a new terminal insert? The link you have in your post says the product is out of stock on Amazon

thank you for all of your help so far and sorry for the million questions

Hmm, possibly! You might need the right tool to disassemble it though.

It looks like this website sells the same plug.

I managed to de pin the connector right after I asked that haha. Just waiting on new pins and seals now so I can make my new connector

Nice work!! Let me know how it goes. Iā€™m frustrated right now bc I used mine today and the ARB pressure control was reading 0 psi on the tire. (Even though it inflated it to 65) and didnā€™t stop at 55 as I had it set.

Will do. Do you think you might be having that issue because the pressure control module is tapped into the same power as the yellow upfitter cable? Or maybe the Bluetooth signal isnā€™t strong enough to go through the plastic box and bed? Iā€™ll let you know if I end up having the same issue. I will probably post a thread on my install as well. Trying to think of a cool build name like you have haha

Or could it be you left the ground wire out of the Delphi plug?

So it worked fine the last few times I used it. So that rules out any missing wires or connections. The Bluetooth signal is fine (reaches to my phone when Iā€™m all the way back at the trailer tires).

The pressure control module is working and turns on/off the pressure just fine from the phone app. The only thing itā€™s not doing is reporting the actual tire psi back to the app. This means the app has no way to do an auto shutoff when the correct pressure is reached. But, it did work for me several times over the last month. So Iā€™m a bit confused.

Worth noting ARB hasn't submitted any updates to Apple since they released the app when the product launched, so that may not be good news for longevity of the system.

Hmmmm that could very well be the issue especially as the iPhone and Android software continues to update to newer versions. I just got a brand new iPhone14 pro max so we will see if it works with the latest and greatest

This is pretty much how mine will be set up. The compressor, tank and pressure control are all mounted above the spare tire

Awesome! Nice drawing. Now Iā€™m curiousā€¦ what app did you use to make that?

I just used the notes Apple notes app on my iPad

I built my own plug to connect the arb to the upfitter wire. Hereā€™s the post that shows the plug and links to the parts.

I also tapped into this yellow wire to get power to the pressure control. This way the pressure control is only on when I turn on the compressor with the upfitter switch.
How did you go about tapping into the yellow upfitter wire? Did you use a T-tap or did you splice and solder?

Like this correct?
That should work! (Assuming the purple wire adjacent to the yellow goes to the positive on the pressure control module) Iā€™m also curious, what is the gray wire connected to?

The gray wire is supposed to be the ground wire. The wire harness shown in the picture is the end of the expedition essentials wire harness kit that I ordered so when I connect it to the factory ARB harness, it gets connected to the black wire of the ARB harness next to the purple wire.
