That’s one of my favorite videos. “Snatch Block”!!the cons that i disagree with it the limp cable ... you want synthetic cable it better and little to no maintenance. the cable is fiber but as long as you rinse it after getting muddy it will last ... also don't let the sun beat on it .... winch can break, always a possibility, also the winch is 12k winch, it can pull alot, if you are pulling more then 12k get snatch blocks they work great also most 12k lb winch will cost around $400 to $600 just ford is charging for the research and development
be careful when you google it.That’s one of my favorite videos. “Snatch Block”!!
That’s really the question.....Winch and wench why not both?
the fit and finish is Great but the only thing i didn't like is the gap between the bumper and the grill and headlight so i got so rubber seal material and put in to just fill in the gap ... its black so you don't see it and it fills the Gap but there isn't a good plate to mount a license plates but i mounted and just start fuck Maryland .... but it on the front underside but it on the front of the truck and it can be seen... just not by camerasHow is the fit and finish on the Road Armor bumper? What model is it? Anything you don't like about it other than the wait time?
believe you can have both it lets you spec both on the siteCan you have a winch with a snow plow? I'd go for the snow plow attachment which makes much more practical sense in Northern climates... I can count on 1 finger (and really only needed a good rope pull) when I've actually needed a winch, but even then I have a buddy with several flat bed tow trucks that would get me out of any situation that required a winch.
They are both fun to play with out on the trail.Be sure you know the difference between a winch and a wench. Not the same thing.
It's always good to have a wench around. Winches are needed when you get the truck stuck. Wenches are great companions and fun. Winches are for emergencies. Wenches warm cold nights. Winches live in the truck. They both require cleaning after use. Winches have long things. Wenches want long things. They both can be beautiful, but in much different ways. Both can be expensive, but winches only cost up-front. Wenches cost all the time you have them. Winches require very little attention. Wenches require constant attention. Winches have remote controls. Wenches require manual control. Winches come with clear instructions. Wenches are somewhat mysterious, or moody and require negotiation. Winches are always with you when you take the truck. Wenches have to be invited. And finally, winches can be ordered from the factory. Wenches are best when found, and you never know where you'll find them.
I recommend having both. If you can only afford one, probably best to go with a wench.
Sooo I’m finalizing my order. I’m debating the winch option. Seems like a pretty good deal from the factory.
its covered by the Ford warranty correct?
What’s everyone’s thoughts?
winch pros
-having a winch is damn cool
- make new friends pulling people out of ditches
- another random tool around the house
- conceals nicely in bumper
wench cons
- gets dirty, tough to clean/maintain hidden
- limp cable. Not firm
-might break and need more money

Too expensive. You can install one yourself much cheaper.Sooo I’m finalizing my order. I’m debating the winch option. Seems like a pretty good deal from the factory.

After seeing the mounting issues (bolt sticking up), mandatory weird dual alternator setup and the cost. I’m going to pass on the factory one.Too expensive. You can install one yourself much cheaper.
I want one!!! ??You can always go this route. Lol
Rollers can cause problems with synthetic cable, a Hawse fair lead is correct in this application. I’ve ran this setup on my Jeep for years and never had a rope problem pulling from any angle.Damn is there really no rollers on that? I'm no expert but I thought you wanted rollers so you can pull from angles not straight on
