Hey there,

Looking for the following truck. Our spec's are pretty specific so this might take a bit but Im tired of calling 10 dealers daily...

We are planning on building this as a true global expedition/overland truck for SEMA and Overland Expo(s) before shipping it internationally. For that reason, I would prefer the 7.3L gasser (which makes this search nearly impossible) -- especially given that the 6.7L is an additional $10k plus the dealers want another $10k on top of that... $20k for an engine for a truck that will rarely tow is a bit excessive.

SPECS:
2022
F-350
Lariat Ultimate or Platinum
Star White
Tremor (obviously...)
Black Appearance Package
Mileage (under 20k)
7.3L preferred for our global travel plans but 6.7 might have to work for us given the 7.3L shortages.

If you or someone you know has this truck and is looking to sell, reach out!

looks like @dm88 has one pretty close to this for sale on this website FS: 2022 F250 Lariat Godzilla Tremor (utah)

Just curious why the F350 vs the F250? They are virtually identical trucks when talking about the Tremor package.

The tremor has the F350 suspension and rear axle. I'm not aware of any differences at all, other than the badge.

My understanding is that the payload number listed on the door would be different. If I am wrong, someone please chime in!

I am most definitely not a Tremor expert but I do know that even if the leaf packs are the same, the F350 should carrier a higher payload #. If that is not the case, this would be a revelation because tracking down a F350 in our spec has been nearly impossible, while I can find many F250's the are nearly perfect. Only truck I have found is all the way in NJ (I am in CA) and that drive is quite significant....

We will be building this truck (and the subsequent tremors) to nearly full payload capacity so we need every pound of payload available on this platform. If over payload, the liability should an accident happen is very real -- especially for a manufacturer or operator like us.

Thanks for any insight! In the meantime I will do my best to look into this.

Stickers will be different but as stated the suspension, axels, gear ratio are identical. They are exactly the same you can verify with dealership or witness yourself. Your paying approximately $1000 more for a sticker and 350 badge.

The only difference is payload from an f350 and f250 everything else as stated will be the same.

Point is the payload is only different because the sticker shows different numbers between the 250 and 350. But in the tremor model the trucks are technically exactly the same so in theory they should be capable of the same numbers.

Thanks for the comments!

After looking at the spec's shared by some in the Tremor payload thread, it seems that the 250's stickers are approx 1k less in total payload than a F350 with the comparable build -- which I would say is notable. For us, the $1000 extra for that 1000lbs of payload is an easy spend.

I agree with you all that with the same power output, springs, gearing, and suspension that the capability and reliability under load between a 250 & 350 should be the same. For personal use I could 100% understand why some who make the call to just go with the 250 even if they occasionally operate over GVWR. As mentioned however for commercial interests going over GVWR is a big "no-no". However, the fact that the spread is so large between a 250 & 350 for identical trucks is just bizarre.

I have the F-350 7.3L gas Tremor. the GVWR is 11300, although WA DOT registration says 12000, I didn't ask why.

I picked the 350 over 250 because it's the exact same truck (bar a sticker and badge) and I like to stay within legal limits, vehicle capacity aside. It didn't impact my registration or insurance cost, but in some states the +10000 GVWR vehicles will have higher registration cost and insurance, which often times will affect people's choices.

The difference is simply based on the GVWR as @Molinote stated above. 11.3K vs 10K. Payload = GVWR - Curb weight.

The choice will be different depending on your needs. I went with a 250 which works for my usage perfectly and saved a few bucks. For others 350 is the right choice, particularly if you need the increase in legal payload.

As others have stated, the only difference is the legal yellow payload sticker and the side badges. Mechanically the two trucks are identical, and the legal difference is 700 lbs, not 1300 as others have stated. (Ie. 10,800 vs 11,500)

It is absolutely 1300 for the 7.3 gasser. 10,000 vs 11,300. The 6.7 is 10,800 vs 11,500.

There’s a new 22’ Star White 7.3 Lariat Ultimate on the dealer lot near my house for $76K, but it’s an F-250.

Agreed on 250’s and 350’s being identical for the most part. But according to Ford’s own data the 250 Tremor sits around a half inch or so taller than the 350 Tremor IIRC. I’ve seen the sheet posted around here a couple times and no one could ever explain why that is. If it’s true then something is responsible for the height difference.

Oops, why would anyone buy the gasser? Haha! ;)

Never seen that, post the information you saw from Ford.
