Going on a 4000 mile round trip pulling a 7500lb enclosed trailer. I have softened my spring rate using 1/4" spacers. Not wanting to run air bags on this truck but i'm looking for a little more support while towing so i purchased some supersway stops that I can easily put on for towing.
I've noticed that ford has the rear of the over load engage sooner that the front. The rear sits about 3/4" closer to the contact pad than the front. Not sure if this was to give a more progressive feel?
So that got me thinking.. maybe I can just run one supersway stop on the front of the overload that will be slightly engaged with the trailer on as I'm not looking for a lot here. And the rear can engage at a later time. Running it on the front would also counteract the axle wrap while under acceleration. Which doesn't really matter as my S&B traction bars hold the axle rock steady anyway(i've tested and confirmed via video).
I've done a preliminary test running around with weight in the bed on some rough roads and have felt no ill effects.
Thoughts?
