Anyone have a Kubota Grand L series?

I’ve had an MX6000 on order for a lifetime that’s still at least a month out.

Opportunity popped up to pickup a L4060 today.

I hadn’t considered this series before. Quite a bit less power than the MX but more bells and whistles. The HST plus transmission sounds nice. Should make it feel more like high-end construction equipment than low-end agricultural.

I’ll use this thing mostly for field mowing (flail mower), driveway maintenance and miscellaneous parking pad work (box blade), loader work in loose material piles, and fork work. So don’t explicitly need over 50 horsepower, was more a nice to have.

L will be ~5k cheaper than the MX.

Any thoughts on these models? Any of the recent MX buyers here consider the Grand L’s?

I have the Grang L 3240 for small acreage yard work, moving snow, etc. I love it! Only complaint I have is that the ass end is light. If you are going to lift something fairly heavy you need to have ballast on rear end.

I also have a MX6000 on order, had looked at the grand L and for the cab models it was pretty much a wash on price between the 4060 and 6000 both optioned up similar. I have not looked much at the open stations so can’t comment on those.
The biggest difference that got me gunning for the MX was loader capacity and price. The MX has around 500lbs more capacity than the 4060. The larger framed L6060 gets a little bump in capacity than the MX but was over 7K more. For me I want to run the bigger rear cutter 7’, which the 4060 won’t be able to turn well but perfect for the 6060 or 6000 class. What was surprising to me is machine weight with all 3 models listed in a cab version were very close. The Grand L controls are a little more polished than the MX but for me didn’t have a lot more comfort in my opinion but am used to my old B which is more similar to the MX. The 4060 sounds like a good deal just will it be enough for your lifting and cutting needs.

If the Grand L has enough PTO horsepower and loader lift capacity for you, you will really enjoy that tractor. The HST is quite nice, in any brand, for loader work and pallet fork work.

That's the tractor that I have, bought it in 2019 and love it. I am not using it enough (only 50 hours on it) but I keep it on a remote property that I am clearing and I just don't get over there enough to work. 40 hp has been plenty for me so far. I was looking at 30-35 hp tractors, but the HP at the PTO was just below what I will need for future implements so I upsized to 40hp. My air-conditioned and heated cab is a pleasure (the wife made me do that upgrade) and probably saved my life once while moving a semi-rotten stump. Hornets! I just laughed and kept working. (Post #75 on this thread)

Dropped this one in Gold Beach, OR last week. Right at 22k gross combined. Tractor, loader, backhoe, auger, box scraper, grapple and mower. This trailer has a 22' deck, 7k axles, and is rated at 14,900 gvwr. I had to shift the load a little to keep the truck's rear axle from being overloaded. One more implement and I would have had to switch to our 32' trailer, which is a pain to get into most driveways. Averaged 12.2 mpg loaded and the truck handles big grades as if they were flat ground.

Thanks, it is an art. The implements can be a chore. It takes far longer to load and strap down the implements than it does to tie down a tractor. And on the other end when unloading, we won't have our forklift, so things have to be able to be unloaded with the tractor. The 6' rotary mower is what takes up the real estate. It is sideways on the 6' fixed deck up front with the tailwheel removed so as to not be overwidth. The front bucket is loaded with three-point arms and auger bits and is clamped in the grapple. The box scraper is on the tail, double strapped for good measure. The post-hole digger is in the bed of the truck.

I don't have my notes handy, but I think the trailer axles scaled at 10,500'ish. 16 ply 17.5" on the trailer, so I have a lot of margin on the trailer tires and axles.

Don't have a Tremor yet but do have a 420DIT of the same year range. Bought it new back in 2002 and still going strong.
