Thanks, I offered $53.5k for an msrp truck of $59k. Otd was going to be $59k in ca. I’m trying to get closer to $50k price and $55k otd. I’m hoping deals will be better this Monday seeing it’s the end of the month.

What dealer was this? Sunrise offered the $53.5k and I’m trying to get star in Glendale down to $50k or $51k.

When buying a new truck I always look at it as there is a dealer out there that will give me the deal I want. I just need to find them.....I always do. Hang in there you will get what you want for the price you want.

The trucks are not moving, dealers/manufacturers will need to do something unless they want to continue paying interest on trucks that won't move as the economy gets worse and worse. Thanks!

I am looking at the 2020... there aren't any new 2019 Power Wagons available. I'm pulling the trigger on the Power Wagon...
Reasons for my decision:
Color & Package exactly what I wanted (within driving distance)
A touch hesitant on getting a 1st year engine (7.3L)
More options on the PW
About 11" shorter in total length than the F250 (I know that's not always an advantage)
Tighter turn Radius
$$$$
MPG's just a touch better on the PW... I'd call it a wash.
Bench seat (room for rifle next to me)
On the go 4WD shifter on the floor (brings back good memories!)
Rambox... so convenient for tow ropes, chain saw, battery cables, hitch, etc
I'm currently not towing anything more than 9K. I can always add rear air bags if I wish to carry/pull more.

Love the Tremor equally; just different reasons
I Love Fords and Rams... GM was never a consideration and never will be!

I was seriously considering the Power Wagon before the Tremor was announced. The one thing that kept me from buying was the payload. I just couldn't justify buying a HD truck that couldn't haul much. The second thing that kept me from buying it is the reliability. My diesel RAM has been in the shop more then any other vehicle I've ever owned. It's left me stranded twice. The first time I had 10k miles (water pump froze) and the second time the starter failed. I have 35k miles now on my ram and on my 3rd water pump. Like you I purchased my RAM over a F250 because it seemed like a better value at the time (6 years ago)

I agree the RAM has nice interior and I dig the bench seat. Another small thing that I didn't care for was the rotary dial shifter.

I understand that all brands have issues, but I've personally always had good look with Fords.

Hey guys,
I'm really leaning towards the Tremor. The towing ability of the Power Wagon turns me off, and I think it grabs more attention than I care to get. I also think I'm going to get more sway issues in the Power Wagon when towing.

Just a couple things to solidify my decision....

I ran some numbers on insurance, and even though the F250 would cost me about 2K less; It's about $300 more per year to insure... is this due to the aluminum body? Have you guys noticed this or compared with others?

The next is real world MPG's... (I know I'm not buying a prius here!)
Anyone who's had an 8 speed (2019 or 2020) Power wagon care to chime in on the difference? I'm a flatlander around 1500 ft above sea level. Besides towing; what made you switch to the Tremor?

So I am the perfect target audience for your thread. I had a 2018 ram power wagon, and I recently went the route of the trimmer. Gas mileage is significantly better, although I did get a diesel.I actually like the trimmer in every aspect better than the power wagon. The only thing that I miss on the power wagon, and I truly miss it, werethe ram boxes. I ended up putting a diamondback HD cover on the trimmer which I am extremely happy with. Can’t recommend those enough. When I towed a camper with the power wagon, I was shocked to only get between eight and 10 miles per gallon. The Ford is a sewing machine and I have no significant decrease in miles per gallon when pulling the camper. I ended up putting a diamondback HD cover on the trimmer which I am extremely happy with. Can’t recommend those enough. When I towed a camper with the power wagon, I was shocked to only get between eight and 10 miles per gallon. The Ford is a towing machine and I have no significant decrease in miles per gallon when pulling the camper. Also, the range of sniffily greater on the Ford, about 175 miles when you fill up the tank.

How's the steering between the two? Did you notice a big different on highway and turning radius?

Your phone has made a bunch of dudes eyes twitch, quite possibly - between the trimmer and the sniffily. It was a fun read though.

I'd say the Tremor is more of an all-around truck. if you wanted to build or have a dedicated off-road full size truck for back-country camping, wheeling, etc, then the PW is probably better. But if you're like most of us and will be using the truck for everything, I'd go with the Tremor.

I traded my 18 PW in on a Tremor XLT and couldn’t be happier. I’ve always been a Ford guy and only bought the Ram as a last minute deer lease truck that need absolutely nothing (turnkey). Reasons I like my Ford better include overall size, interior room, 10 speed, and bigger bed just to name a few. I won’t trash the Ram it just wasn’t for me. I’m a big guy and the Ford just fits me much better.

I hope you end up happy, but from a quaility stand point I think you are comparing apples to oranges. I hope it is not in the shop constantly. Unless you do really crazy stuff you probably wont need the front lockers and sway bar. I had dodges for a long time, and since 2015 it seems they are just in the shop a lot.

Just got a quote on an XLT package (Power Wagon does include more features like Winch, Front/Rear Lockers, Sway Bar Disconnect, LED Lighting throughout, Ram Box, nicer interior in similar equipped group)...
Power Wagon @ 52K; Tremor @ 55K (they only offered $500 off MSRP), so XLT Tremor was in fact more $.... I didn't expect that!
The only thing I like better on the RAM is the interio... Ram has the best interior of any pickup, and it's not even close.
That being said; I'm fine with boring interior, I just don't want squeaks and rattles in a few years...hopefully the Ford holds up in that dept.

Ram interior might look cool, but it is not functional.

I had lots of Ram trucks, loved them but they just did not hold up very well past 5 years for me. We have salt on our roads in winter and the body on the Ram do not hold up. The paint process at FCA is not as good as GM or Ford you will see many imperfections in the paint if you look at it in the daylight up close. The Aluminum body was a big factor for me. Really two different trucks, there is a video on YOU Tube that compares them. The Ram is much better off road. The Tremor is more of a working truck you can use effectively off road. It's more of a "heavy" than the Ram. The 7.3 pushrod V-8 should also sell you on the Tremor. Either way sounds like your going to be the owner of a great truck very soon,

What he said. If you're spending more time off road and not towing/hauling that much, then the PW makes sense. It's a great backwoods hunting truck with some haul capability. The Tremor will not do as well off road, but it is more of a "duty" truck meaning it'll tow and haul much more and is far more capable in that regard with respectable off road performance. I like that four wheeler review. You know in life, everything is a compromise. It comes down to what matters most to you. There are those that lament the lack of front locker. I like the choice of L/S in the front myself, and if that really is a Torsen gear unit, so much the better. A front locker is great off road, but dangerous on road in icy/snowy conditions. The L/S will provide more on road traction in those conditions without the dangerous side effects.
All of the options out there now are great for the consumer. Ford hit the nail on the head, for me and my purposes, with the Tremor. Honestly, if they didn't offer this and all you got was the FX4, I would not be looking Ford at all.

The front diff is not a Torsen, but it is a helical gear system from Dana. The axle is a Dana Super 60 axle. I think it will be fine, even thought I wanted a Torsen. Also, having hubs is a big advantage over the Ram. I've been a Dodge and Cummins guy for a long time, but the Tremor, with a 7.3 won me over.
