Tranny leak

I wish you luck... I kept mine over the holiday weekend to tow my boat, but I had the dealer agree to it first.

Hope thats all it was, I looked at mine again and it looks like the upper passenger side of the bell housing is the source, possibly the torque converter. Appears to be a slow leak, if they cant get it fixed in a week or so gonna need a loaner that can tow or just run this thing as is for our camping trip. Goes in the shop Fri morn.

Fellow Tremors,
I just picked my new F250 Tremor last weekend. Can’t say enough good things about the truck.... however I have noticed it’s leaking tranny fluid, not a crazy leak but enough to post my concern. I’m quite certain any leaking is total BS. I’m just wondering if any of you by chance ran into this.....
I have about 1000 miles on it and been pretty gentle thus far...

I am getting cold feet now, 7.3 ordered and build week coming up 9/22 ?

I'll have to admit I was pretty disappointed at first as I really like the truck, tows great, looks great. This is my first Ford truck so not a great start for me but I am going to stay positive and let them get it straightened out under warranty, mistakes happen and there are always going to be some issues here and there with any manufactured product.

Yes this will be my first Ford after buying GM for over 35 years, always heard do not buy 1st year vehicles “Motor”
I am still excited to get a “Ford” tremor but what a interesting year this is !!! The Stars are not aligned lol

I just got my Tremor back, they stated it was leaking from the trans pan. Installed a new pan and gasket. I’m hoping this is it but doubting this is the end of this problem. It is going to get ugly if I have to go back again. I could stomach this issue better if it was a fiesta, not 70k+ truck.

Even $200k Bentley have leaks and items not working. This is nothing new. It is Fords responsibility to fix it though. I think they will.

Hope that was the fix but your post makes me wonder what is going on with my former truck. As far as I know it is still sitting in the lot waiting for the new gasket to arrive. I wonder why the pan was replaced with the gasket. Was it cracked and leaking.? Was the gasket placed incorrectly causing it to pinch and cracking the pan? Inquiring minds...

Update: Shop says a definite leak coming from inside bell housing. Advised not to drive it until repaired as its pretty bad, a 2 week wait for the transmission tech to tear it apart and see whats wrong. About ramp things up a bit on my end, this is not acceptable cust service for a vehicle with 1500 miles and babied since it rolled off the transport truck. Lucky me.

Man I feel for you on this one!!! I have had mine back for two days and it’s still bone dry underneath?Did they give you a tow vehicle at least?

Update: Shop says a definite leak coming from inside bell housing. Advised not to drive it until repaired as its pretty bad, a 2 week wait for the transmission tech to tear it apart and see whats wrong. About ramp things up a bit on my end, this is not acceptable cust service for a vehicle with 1500 miles and babied since it rolled off the transport truck. Lucky me.

Update: Pump seal failed, apparently a slow leak and took them awhile to find with dye in the oil, had to run it for awhile and get warm before traced to internal bellhousing. Trans comes out tomorrow, hopefully get it done by Wed if part is available. Not sure what to think, pretty damn disappointed but what are you going to do... Just hope this tech is a good one and doesn't mess something else up in the process.

Glad they found the problem, hopefully parts doesn’t hold it up. Mine is still leak free at this point. They must of had some issues on the trans production line when ours were built. Hope your up and running soon!

Thanks, got another update today. They got it all apart and the sealing surface on the torque converter wasnt machined/polished properly and damaged the seal. Everything to repair it was on back order so they are just going to throw a new tranny in it. Supposed to be here Friday and installed same day so should still have it for the weekend, fingers crossed. Not sure about the 1k mile towing break in period for the new trans, may just have to say hell with it and let it eat, leave for the beach at daybreak on Sat.
