So I'm curious....

I just recently bought new Wheels and Tires and had the vendor install TPMS sensors to go along with them as a package deal. I assumed once I received and mounted them, I would have to go through the procedure of doing a TPMS relearn.

But after putting them on, the truck apparently detected them automatically? I didn't have to do a thing.

Is this expected? 🤔

I think it depends on which sensors they put in, if the sensors are blank and need to be programmed or if they are preprogrammed already and the truck just needs to recognize them. Do you happen to know the brand/model of sensors they put in. I have a set of tremor takeoffs without tmps, also looking to put tpms in them without having to program them, not sire which is the right kind.

I had to give them my truck information, so I'm assuming they pre-programmed them. But, I thought the truck would still need to "learn" where they are.

They put these in:

When I added a fifth sensor in my spare (with OEM wheel) the truck picked it up without me having to do anything.

Like @Modman said I did the same and the truck learned it automatically. I used an oem sensor.

When I had my 19 F150 I had a second set of winter tires and oem sensors and it did the same thing when I swapped tires fall and spring. I just put them on and drove and it picked them up automatically.

I don’t know about the sensor they used. I don’t know if it acts like the oem ones or if they programmed it like some of the other aftermarket ones.
