Top 3 Mods (Inexpensive...or NOT)

As the new guy, I'm wondering if I can gather your thoughts on some simple, cheap (or not) mods that you feel are must do with your trucks.

I have the 7.3 gas.

Examples are the Builtright release (is there even room back there) to store a long gun, PPF edge protection, lights, sill guards, key fob covers, stowable hitch, storage solutions, muffler tip (just the tip), air flow, etc.

But...then I really want that tucked Warn winch, the Black Rhino wheels with new 37" tires, and some subtle suspension improvements.

I'm on my 5th day with the new truck, and I can't stop thinking about it.

Exhaust... straight through or cat back depending on budget. Need to make it sing. I miss the Borla on my 6.2 Raptor and can't wait to open up the 7.3 when mine arrives!

Look at the Gorman Tech Services winch mount if you havent already. Allows you to run a Harbor Freight Badlands winch just like the Warn without having to pay the Warn price tag.

B&W tow&stow is the way to go. Dont get the tri-ball. it'll stow nicer and not sure i've seen a 1 7/8" ball in a minute.

Dont replace the stock airbox. Just get an aftermarket airfilter like the AFE ProDry 5s. Its what i run. Wont cake up when you hit heavy dust and its washable.

Regarding lights, if you're looking at Baja Designs, i'd love to be your source.
If you want to protect your taillights/tailgate/anything under the hood, I'd love to help, and can help, with that as well.

Besides that... careful what you asked for. That question has been known to make wallets go missing and bank accounts go dry.

I agree with this. My OCD made me get the tri ball and I regret it to this day. The dual one is all I’ve ever used and it sure would store just a bit nicer. Oh well

In all seriousness, full PPF, the extended fuel tank, and window tinting are probably the ones I wouldn't want to live without. All the other mods I could get by without if I had to.

Btw that diesel pump needs a courtesy wipe!

1. An S&S Disaster Prevention Kit (DPK): Because nothing screams "The Truth and the Light" quite like needing a $400 aftermarket bypass just to stop your factory fuel pump from grenading your injectors, fuel rails, and tank without warning.

2. A Costco-sized pallet of BlueDEF and Anti-Gel: You're going to need something to stack while standing in the freezing cold waiting for your glow plugs, praying your fuel doesn't gel because US diesel has the lubricity of sandpaper.

3. A burner phone and a good lawyer: You'll need them to dodge the EPA fines after you inevitably have to delete the truck just to make it run reliably.
