Wondering how this is going to end up for users?? New hardware required? Simple updates? Making ideas about getting out of town for road travels seem worth the time and effort.

It is worth it in my opinion. I have used mine from mountain wilderness and the middle of the ocean. Plug it in and the thing just works.

Speeds are going to be driving this train. I realize it's going to be based off location due to demand. BUT...if they get the speeds to support all users across most all locations it's going to change some lives and how people live.

My Starlink equipment arrives today, installing it at the deer lease at camp, might run some point to point to a few deer stands

6 hours from Florida to Louisiana Tuesday. Only interruption was the Mobile Tunnel. Streaming video the whole time at 75 MPH. Mounted on the dash, with the battery pack installed keeps the unit running at stops. Still, booting up from off is not a prolonged event. A Black cover keeps it from reflecting on the windshield and outside visibility low. Below is from a couple of months ago.

I've been paying first $165/mo and now $175/mo for Starlink Mini plus roaming just to have it on standby, ready for action.

I kept thinking I'd be backcountry travelling and camping longer by now.

Instead I'm still wrenching on the truck after initiating almost three months of home improvements last February. Then just got another trailer (anyone want a 2016 FR Work&Play 25' box toy hauler? She's very well built, but too large for what I want from a trailer, now).

At least I have my Starlink... but have forgotten how to use it (how to setup and get cornnected).

What I failed to say is that I can pull it out of the truck and have 8 hours of internet on the beach or anywhere I have just a little opening to the sky. Having had old satellite systems before, they were sensitive as to where to point them. Starlink, not so much.
