So I got my first rock chip on my front bumper (sport package)

I have a few already too. When it was in for ceramic coating the guy called to tell me and ask if I wanted them to try to touch it up. told him to go for it....no charge. But they didn't really fix it. kind of covered it up but not like if you sanded it down and repainted.

Just one of those things, no real way to avoid it. there's rocks and shit on the roads, it's going to happen.

I'm thinking about xpel ppf on the front end, but I was quoted $2K which seems fucking insane to me. Maybe that's the going rate, but not sure it's worth it to me.

“Not too happy with how easily it chips”

A 3 ounce rock hitting your bumper at 75 mph has a lot of inertia,
not to mention sharp edges. It certainly doesn't take a 3 ouncer either.

yeah I'm not sure it chips any easier than any other car or truck's paint.

I took a june bug to the shoulder on my bike at ~120+mph wearing a t-shirt (I know, wicked smaht). I was disappointed at how easily my shoulder bruised.

Blazer, the Xpel pre-cut bumper kit is $367. It would take you an hour at most. Those guys don't go to CalTech.
Some do go to MIT - Mississippi Institute of Truckology.

These are pretty easy to install. Watch a few YouTube videos and you'll be able to do a good job. Keep in mind that it will look better a few days after install once all moisture dissipates from under the film. I suggest starting small and then order bigger kits if you are satisfied. I usually start with headlights/fog lights.

I like the ADD Stealth Fighter which has a more durable paint. I just drove 600+ miles in Texas freeway traffic and mine still looks brand new.

EDIT: I have my factory CG bumper sitting in my garage and I will be selling it in a few weeks if you want to start over! Blue and Gray will look good... ;)

Xpel grades its pre-cut kits for application difficulty. F350 bumper merits a 3 so a bit on the tougher side. There are YouBoobs just on bumpers which if followed will make you a MIT* grad!
