RTIC VS. YETI HARD COOLERS

Been that way unsecured for the better part of 14 years now. Hasn’t been stolen yet. It’s full of ice, drinks, and snacks 24/7. I’d be more upset about replacing the contents than the cooler at this point.

And if you do, how do you prevent it from being stolen?

The answer is pretty simple for me - a Diamondback cover. Coolers or anything else, i never have to worry about leaving stuff secure and unattended in the bed.

And while on a coolers topic, I decided to invest once and be done with it. I now have a 20, 40 and 70 qt Minnesota made Malunas.

Here's a question: How many of you guys keep the cooler in the tailgate pretty much 24/7? And if you do, how do you prevent it from being stolen?

I wouldn't mind having my cooler with me most of the time, but worry about spending the $$$ on a good cooler just to have it stolen in a parking lot somewhere.

I bought something that fits under my cover like previously mentioned. I specifically researched sizes and went bigger bc it was shorter. I have a BAKflip

I own a lot of Yeti products,soft and hard coolers, large water jugs, tumblers etc. When compared to friends Rtic and Pelicans they all perform relatively similarly. I think Yetis quality is very good, not to say others isn't. They are overpriced in my opinion but if its in your budget, I have never been unhappy with any of my Yeti products

We go on at least one canoe/camping trip a year on the Buffalo River. The coolers are in the sun all day, and I would assume we drink beers at close to the same rates.

RTIC lightweight held ice very, very close to as good as the heavy RTIC, Yeti, or Pelican. Considering the ease of use, that’s what I’ve been buying

Same here, never had one stolen. Lost a few lids on the cheap non-latching type though

I’m in far west Texas. Work in the Permian, and live in Lubbock. Travel all over the country for work as well, and almost always in my truck. So it sees lots of different venues. Cooler theft used to be real bad with high end coolers. It seems Facebook marketplace is flooded with them now, and they don’t bring near as much money second hand. Thefts have dropped a ton from it in recent years. They’re pretty big and heavy to carry for what amounts to pocket change these days. Everyone I work with both customers, coworkers, and other 3rd party vendors has one in their truck. I rarely ever hear of anyone losing a cooler these days. It used to be fairly common.

I am looking for those with experience with both of these hard cooler brands. Looking for plus or minus comparisons. Obviously one is price, but is the more expensive one really worth the extra money. I have heard performance is really close, if not equal. I am looking at the wheeled version. Help me make an informed decision please.
