NOOB ALERT - Tremor Break-in

It's typically part of the detergent package. You want oil to be basic so it will neutralize the acidic components of combustion, and Ca will be more reactive than the Fe and Al components in the engine for that. I'd guess it is high due to the very low miles and TBN of 4.4, and it may also be part of the break-in oil blend.

Now, high Ca and Fe/Al means your air filter is broken and your engine is full of gravel dust.

Prepare for a million different views on this. Who knows what’s actually the “best” method.
personally I’ve always followed the manufacturer recommendations.
and that goes for fluid changes as well. the manufacturer spends a lot of time and resources on these vehicles and the best procedures for use. Just my 2 cents

I follow page 320 in the owners manual
Looking at the manual. It states no break in oil or friction modifier for a few thousand miles. Does that include switching to synthetic at 1k?

Manual says it all... from an engine perspective it's primarily the piston rings that need break in. They probably won't fully seat for a few thousand miles and then you'll see a friction reduction. Initial 1k is good for ensuring you don't get excessive blowby past the rings. You don't have to baby it, but I wouldn't drive wot stoplight to stoplight either...
