I'm reposting the below 7.3L info from another site with special thanks going to SMSTX for providing.

2027 7.3L data shows:
- Increase to 9 quarts oil
- Increased compression to 10.8:1
- Slight theoretical decrease on intake/exhaust valve lift.

All lies! It's just a paper derate because of a testing procedure!

The cam change is what has my curiosity. Also, did they change the pistons or the heads?

With the Lobe lifts being identical, wouldn't that indicate Ford did not change the cam?

Are the lobe lifts identical? I do not know. The, "- Slight decrease on intake/exhaust valve lift." note from the first post indicates some change in the valve train. It could be cam or lifters.

Yes, the lobe lifts are identical according to the Cam specifications attached

JMO, the slight variation in valve lifts could be explained by the addition of the new hardened engine intake valves and valve seats that are part of the CNG/Propane Gaseous Engine Prep Package now standard to all 2027+ 7.3L engines.

I wonder where the extra quart of oil lives?

I love playing "guess what" on a truck I just ordered for $80k. /s
