Be careful my friend! I can see you from Vegas!
See the beak on that thing... I had one impaled in my thigh while riding my dirtbike once. Had to stop and pull him out to get free........ One word - INFECTION!!!!!View attachment 268329
He was caught up in a spider web in this garage I am working on. Got him down and cleaned him up and he flew right back up. Extended my measuring tape and he landed on it. I lowered him back down and he finally flew out the door. Have a short video of him in the web but can't upload it directly here so....![]()

It was brutal for about 3 weeks.
I’m envious. As of yesterday afternoon we had ZERO doves in our field. Called off tomorrow’s opening day shoot. My daughter is madder than a hornet.
Dude, put your phone away and use both hands!! You youngsters!

Oddly, heights don’t bother me (too) much. Climbing stuff, I’m ok with.

This is great. I saved one from a car dealership showroom once. It let out this bird like sigh - hard to explain. It was battling a ceiling fan when I saved it. They are all headed south from my area now.View attachment 268329

We had a pair that were in my wife’s garage. She was leaving for work and called me in a panic because she had to close the door. I told her to open the side door and leave it open. Hope for the best. One made it, the other got caught in a web. It was still alive when I got home but exhausted. I got it cleaned up and put in a box with a towel and some hummingbird food from the neighbor. Poor thing was trying to fly. It died a couple hours later. I’m guessing stress/ exhaustion. I felt really bad.View attachment 268329

Probably starved. Those things have to eat constantly to keep their 1000 bpm going. We had a pair that were in my wife’s garage. Apparently, so I found, they mistake the corn cob LED lights as food flowers when the lights are off. Now, they stay lit when the garage is open.
