He was caught up in a spider web in this garage I am working on. Got him down and cleaned him up and he flew right back up. Extended my measuring tape and he landed on it. I lowered him back down and he finally flew out the door. Have a short video of him in the web but can't upload it directly here so.... 😎

See the beak on that thing... I had one impaled in my thigh while riding my dirtbike once. Had to stop and pull him out to get free........ One word - INFECTION!!!!!

It was brutal for about 3 weeks.

This is great. I saved one from a car dealership showroom once. It let out this bird like sigh - hard to explain. It was battling a ceiling fan when I saved it. They are all headed south from my area now.

We had a pair that were in my wife’s garage. She was leaving for work and called me in a panic because she had to close the door. I told her to open the side door and leave it open. Hope for the best. One made it, the other got caught in a web. It was still alive when I got home but exhausted. I got it cleaned up and put in a box with a towel and some hummingbird food from the neighbor. Poor thing was trying to fly. It died a couple hours later. I’m guessing stress/ exhaustion. I felt really bad.
Apparently, so I found, they mistake the corn cob LED lights as food flowers when the lights are off. Now, they stay lit when the garage is open.

Probably starved. Those things have to eat constantly to keep their 1000 bpm going.
