Mirror Tap for Radar

Just got the new V1 and running it with an app through Bluetooth makes is way more useful and powerful than the old one. Upgrade recommended.

I have a V1G2 as well. Love it. I use JBV1 with it. I have a gadget problem. I have an escort redline-o, uniden R3, and 2 beltronics sti's. ??

It's actually amazing how quiet and chill the ride is at 85. The 7.3 pulls at that speed like it's nothing.

Just started using JBV1 last week. The amount of options avail is mind boggling. Talk about overwhelming.

Anyone hardwire their radar detector via the rear view mirror? Just installed a blend mount and tried tapping into the power going into the mirror. Zero luck. This was super easy on my Raptor... can’t figure out why this isn’t working. Red to red; black to black right?

Any luck on what color wire was 12v/ positive and what color was ground/ negative?

I was unable to get the tap in with the black / positive wire? I tried the bigger size and smaller with no luck??? The
Negative / green went right in with the smaller connector. Any tricks to getting this to fit?

The MirrorTap should come with 4 or so different sizes. I had just the opposite as far as toughness. Firm pressure and it will go in.

Mine only came with 2 sizes? What size worked for yours? And did you use the same size for both the positive and negative?

Yeah looks like I have the “mirror mount” kit from Amazon. It came with an r-11 setup.. yours all seem to be the same width? But different lengths.. is that correct?

Mine has an RJ11 on it as well. Yes I think they are all the same width. Per the mirror tap site mine came with:

• (2) .040" taps (red/black) 2" Long
• (2) .045" taps (red/black) 2" Long
• (2) .060" taps (red/black) 2" Long
• (2) .075" taps (red/black) 2" Long

I am pretty sure I am using those top ones. Only difference is length.

I’ve seen the Escort 360 ic is nice and hidden, and there’s another company that makes a wiring harness for that system so that all alerts pop up on the dash. I love the total integrated idea of that
