I hate my Tremor...

Why 2.5 months at dealership the first time? If they can’t fix it in 2 weeks they should buy it back!
They couldn't get the torque converter.. never came in. Eventually ordered the full transmission and replaced the whole assembly.

Keep in mind that a 250 Tremor is basically a 350 rear suspension. It would actually be 2 steps stiffer from a 150 to a 250 Tremor. Also, I believe the gas tremors and diesel Tremors have the same front springs even though the diesel is several hundred pounds heavier than the 7.3, this could make for a harsh front end ride quality. Around me there are very few Super Duties and virtually no Tremors on dealer lots. Maybe talk to your dealer and see if you could take another 250 for a ride, that would be softer and see how it compares to your truck. There is a pretty big difference between a 150 a 250 and a 350.

The transmission issues and paint problems are not acceptable, these trucks are very expensive and there is no reason that they should skimp. It is often said that the super duty trucks are Fords most profitable line; maybe they should stop cutting corners on them. My truck was supposed to be here today and is now pushed back to the 8th; its not even here yet and I have a list of things I'm not going to be happy about...

Wish you luck getting your truck straightened out.
Thanks! Ya, I expect a difference. I've ridden in quite a few super duties, just haven't owned one until now.

The vibration and shaking occurs even on completely smooth roads, and is constant. This isn't about right shocks, something seems very out of balance and slipping.

Fingers crossed.

There is definitely something wrong with your truck. This is not an F150 vs F250 thing. Mine drove beautifully on the factory wheels and tires after I lowered them down to 50F/65R.

As others have said, if it was in a dealership for 2.5 months and they could not fix it, I would insist on a buyback. Be polite, but firm. If you were able to wait that long for them to work on it, then waiting for a buy back should not be a problem.
Ya, I'm lucky I actually work from home and have other vehicles. The truck they gave me for a rental I only put 300 miles on it over the 2.5 months. So waiting for a buyback isn't the issue right now.. just trying to figure out how to navigate the situation is challenging.

Unfortunately I have about 5k in aftermarket upgrades in it which also concerns me.

Thanks for your advice!

Ford will not compensate you for aftermarket upgrades. :( I have heard of others on the Raptor forum who had their dealer swap the parts from the Buyback vehicle to the new one when it arrived. If your dealer will not do it, then you have to remove them yourself, which depending on the parts, might not be ideal...

Ya- unfortunately Ceramic window tint, bedliner, custom leather seats, etc. Not really "swapable" :(

So maybe about 1/4 of my upgrades can be swapped over.

Like I said before. I was shocked How fast they offered to buy or replace my truck, but after that it was annoying. If you missed their phone call, you could never get in touch by returning the call. Everything was done via email and it became extremely frustrating. Almost as if they wanted me to say “screw it” and give up.

No. I haven't had them ride along, but of course I've asked them to make sure they drive it to validate the vibration was gone. They apparently didn't. However, the truck was also a bit smoother when I picked it up from getting the new transmission and it seems to be getting worse.

I'm going to have to get more engaged with it now. Ugh.
Ok.......I had a weird vibration in a Ram 2500 diesel years ago and I went through the tire balancing ordeal and chasing things around the axles, etc. Turns out I had a bad u-joint that at a certain speed and above would put a weird vibration into the drive line. Once that u-joint was replaced, the problem went away.

I only bring this up because you mentioned that the trans has been r/r'd and that it seems to reduce when you put the truck into 4wd.

This could come down to the driveshaft couplings not being torqued properly when they put it all back together, or something in the driveline.

There's my .02 WAG for the day.

Have the tech ride with you when you take it back to demo the problem to him. They should also have one of those systems that enables them to put sensors around the truck that detects vibrations. They use it for NHV gripes. Not all dealerships have one of those, so they may have to call other dealerships for you to find one that can be used on your truck to diag the problem.

Ya - that makes sense and I agree with you.

I also struggle with the idea that its my responsibility to help them figure out the issue. They had the truck for 2.5 months, they should have fixed the problem.

But ya, there isn't a simple answer here.

Not all dealership service departments are created equally but this is beyond that now. They've already proved they can not diagnose or fix your truck.
^^^^THIS! A number of dealerships have a cultural dark cloud looming over their heads. There are a few that rise above and they're highly apparent if you pay attention to a few small details....

With my tundra. Toyota paid for aftermarket stuff that’s wasn’t removable and refunded anything made by or installed by Toyota. I had to remove my Icon suspension lift. The dealership VP actually bought it from me to install on his tundra.

Nice. I can be hopeful them. The vast majority was installed by the dealership and was included in the purchase order even if it was done later due to waiting for parts to come in.

Again at some point I would of ask for my money back. 2-4 weeks is way too long to have a new vehicle.

Thats a sad situation. My F350 6.7 was a dream to drive down to Florida. Absolute DREAM. I finally did feel the awful bounce that comes with a Super duty, that was when we returned back to NY and drove through pot holes on the Park way. I wanted to just make it home as quickly as I could and drove 70-80 MPH over them. # dogs in the truck and the wife was screaming to slow down. I just drove 17 hrs straight and that last hr sucked.
But your truck should not have any vibration. I will keep your situation in my prayers. ? ? ? ???

Welcome back brother

Agreed, but unfortunately, people that can actually troubleshoot a problem these days are getting farther and farther inbetween. If a problem doesn't throw a computer code, so many of these folks don't know what to do. They don't actually know how to pick a problem apart and diagnose it.

Once they diagnosed your first problem to the transmission and ordered it, I'm willing to bet they never touched your truck again until that part came in. Then they r/r'd that part, considered it fixed, and gave it back to you.

I know it doesn't sound right that you have to help them diag the problem, but if you spend that small amount of time showing the person what it does, then you may get the result you want a lot quicker. If you're just over all of it and don't want to bother, which I can understand, then start down the buyback road.

Good luck and hope you get it worked out one way or the other.

I believe (could be wrong) they don’t get paid squat to diagnose the issue. They get paid to fix it.
the manufacturer has very specific guidelines for how long a repair takes to complete. If Ford says it’s a 4 hour job And it takes the tech 6 hours, he only gets paid for 4.
That’s why nobody wants to do anything above and beyond
