Hitch Extension

Anyone have experience with heavy duty hitch extensions? I need to extend it about 24 inches from the receiver. This is looking to me like I'll need a torsion bar extension and an upgraded receiver to connect. Load is rated to 12,000 pounds with a 1000 pound tongue weight.

Yeah, I'm cautious. I'm not extending a large trailer. I called the manufacturer, spoke to them, they said no problem.

I'm looking at a Torklift Super hitch and a truss extension. Not going to be cheap, but it seems to be the only safe and engineered option i can find.

Wow. Never heard of such a thing. What are you towing….or using the hitch for?

The hitch is just an rv. 10,000 pounds. Nothing spectacular. The issue is that I have a side by side on the bed that interferes with the front of the rv. To haul both i need to extend the hitch.

I ran one for many years and actually may go back as the Toyhauler sucks compared to the deck for towing.

I had looked at the extension on My Chevy 2500 so I could haul a dirtbike and the trailer but never got the trailer. My Ram fit the dirtbike but the side by side on the deck was a game changer

I looked at the bed haulers. I'm currently at up with a diamondback, and the bed of the truck is everything I need to hunt fish snorkel motorcycle and ski out of. Plus a fridge/ freezer. With a bed in the back seat in fully set up to do anything anywhere. I've lived out of this for a month. Loved it.

And then SWMBO wanted to come with.

I don't want to completely strip the bed every time I need to switch over. And that's where the dilemma started....

That being said, I've not ruled out that cab over hauler yet.
