I'm wanting to rent a gooseneck trailer to move some stuff, was wondering if there's enough clearance for the gooseneck 'neck' to be able to rotate freely and not hit or interfere with the Pelican case I have installed in the bed. I will use the two rearward (towards the tailgate) puck locations for the safety chains.

Man....that would be close.

Is it have a lot of hills or steep driveway approaches yeah gonna be close, if fairly flat looks good to me, have to keep in mind hitting the bed rails and what the trailer is adjusted for.

I forgot to mention the Pelican case is pliable enough to where I think even if the neck hits it, it's not going to be a big deal. I've had a pallet of cement shoved into it by a forklift and it rebounded back after the pallet was removed.

I could also get an offset gooseneck ball from Gen Y, too.

I think it might work with most of the goosenecks I’ve used. But it’d be a tight squeeze. Your offset ball idea would definitely get the job done, if that adapter fits.

I spotted a 4th gen Super Duty last night pulling a Big Tex gooseneck equipment trailer which had a toolbox with clearances similar to what’s pictured. No offset ball.

If your trailer had a similar neck to a Big Tex it seems you’d have no problems.

I would say no, that pelican case looks way too close.

Now I’m not saying it’s impossible, I tend to like my 8 foot bed for goose neck trailer but my farrier is able to use a short bed for his.

So up to you and your risk factors , can the pelican case be moved into said trailer ??

Yours looks very tight, I run a TT with my GN and wouldn’t recommend much more than 24” the tank depth is with GN trailer.

Don’t have any good pics of the neck area with the tank in but it’s just enough to clear driving uneven ground.

Aren’t those goose neck ball hitches meant to be directly above the axle ? Would off setting it make other problems, I’m sure the more knowledgeable people on here could answer.

It does look close, but as others have mentioned, I also tow a gooseneck with a toolbox and haven't had any issues. Does your pelican case protrude above your bedrails? I imagine you're more likely to hit the edges of the case making a sharp maneuver than the neck of the trailer hitting the front of your case. That said, my gooseneck is an older Kaufman and not as "beefy" in neck construction as new Big Tex, PJs, and Diamond Cs.

The Pelican is below the bed rails :)

You should be able to clear most necks with the 5”setback. I will be curious if the setback cases any bucking moving pin weight back.
I have a 35' RV with GenY Gooseneck and the Goosepuck 5" offset ball. Previous setup on same trailer was a 5th wheel pinbox and B+W Companion hitch. I dont notice any additional bucking, etc. I do like the GenY with the torsion suspension.
