Front grill camera issue

Use non-sticky splice tape. It stretches, sticks to itself and is rubberized. I've put this all over that connection to prevent this exact thing from happening. It works like a charm and if you need to remove, does not leave any sticky residue.
Self vulcanizing tape? Roger that!

Self vulcanizing... much better! My mind, I must be losing it. I used this on the main Molex connector underneath the hitch (has all the trailer connections etc.) as well, as the damn thing over time seems to allow seepage from car washes as well as snow/rain/water fording. I found this on my 17 as that was what I was chasing for intermittent IPC and APIM malfunctions. Since then I've just wrapped that and the front camera connections with it to prevent.

Thank you for the recommendation. Next time the camera goes out I will put tape on it. There does not seem to be a lot of room between the camera to get a good seal on the camera side.

My first issue ever with my '22! Argh! Same thing happening to me. Intermittent front camera going dark. Still have warranty (barely) but feel like I can do this myself faster. For those that purchased a new camera, the part number from Ford is LC3Z19G490A.

That one is $364.14. In older posts in this thread, others mentioned buying non-OEM from Amazon, etc., but I can't find anything there that looks like the same thing. Before I order the OEM part, did anyone have luck with an off-brand?

That part LC3Z-19G490-A is correct, however when I ordered mine from FairwayFord a year ago, it was like $70. Crazy increase since then! Don't recommend the generic knock off ones.

Installing some lights in my front grill this weekend, I broke the camera connector clip (the brown plug connector) causing an intermittent camera in the dash.

Does anyone know if that connector is sold seperately?

So, this just happened to me today. 22 - Front camera just shows a black screen. I'm so bummed out about this. I will attempt to clean and di electric grease the camera plug, and hope that this fixes it. Otherwise, I do think I'm under extended warranty so hopefully that will take care of it also. Just hate having to deal with this kind of stuff. I rarely have ever used the front camera, so it's honestly not a big deal, but I don't like knowing something isn't working

It's likely the plug as you mentioned. The clips snaps or breaks off and you loose connection.

This happened to me and I zipped it together while I ordered a new harness. The harness came in and I never did replace it, well it hasn't given me any problems since.

Bless the person who invented zip ties.

Good to know. I really hope that’s all it is.

I was bummed when the CHMSL did it to me the first time too... the second and third time, not so much but now more of aggravation that Ford has, in my opinion, sub-par cameras.

If it ends up being the camera and yours isn't under warranty, if you are anywhere close to me or feeling like hitting Tucson, just purchase, install and holler at me. I've still got FDRS and can LIN the camera and update the IPMA/B.
