I got these a few years ago when my cheap metal clips that came from the factory snapped. These are a HUGE upgrade, you all will love them. The only downside is the hook is relatively tight to the bed so some straps have a hard time fitting into them, that being said i have been able to get all of mine in there at the right angle.

In a perfect world you would have four Bed Tie Downs down low and four BoxLink Tie Downs up higher, so you have all options available when securing cargo. I understand this doubles the cost though. If you go with one pair of each, I would put the Bed Tie Downs near the tailgate and the Box Link Tie Downs in the forward position nearest the cab. This will make them easier to reach.

Depends on the clearance. A solid 45-degree approach usually prevents you from bottoming out, but if you have to force it, you're just going to strip the hardware.
