Foil Shields around Transmission Pan

Good Afternoon

One of the Foil Shields around Transmission Pan came loose and I temporarily removed it. Looks like something hit underneath. I need to figure out how to reinstall it.

How critical is it to reinstall quickly? I know the pan is plastic and the cats get hot. I guess I'm ok as long as I don't sit and extended idle while it's hot out?

Just replaced mine today on my 22. My old one also looks like something must have hit it and bent one side. Noticed a rattle from it with the truck in park and idling.

Takes all of 5 minutes to remove and reinstall the new one. It's held on by 3 6mm studs with 10mm nuts. Mine broke out 2 of the holes and it was rattling on the crossmember. Either replace it with a new one of go buy 3 6mm or 1/4in fender washers to put under the flange nuts.

I didn't remove the old one until I had the new one. Didn't want to risk warping the edge of the pan with the diesel exhaust running right next to the plastic.

took that flimsy pos rattling crap & threw it in the trash & never looked back

confirmed my decision was a good one when they didn't bother replacing it when they rebuilt my trans & the dealer didn't replace it either.

This. One came off driving in 18" of snow, other one came off driving thru a cut cotton field. Probably around 30k .They will start rattling anyways...Mine were not replaced when my transmission was replaced under warranty at the dealer. 35k since the tranny swap no issues.
