F250 Tremor has the F350 suspension and axle? If so, does that mean it equates to a 350?

2026 F250 Tremor XLT
I'm being told my F250 Tremor has the F350 suspension and axles and such. If this is true, does that mean my truck will manage bed load and towing similar to a F350? I know the ratings are different. I just want to know if i have improved towing and load capacity over a typical F250. And, if all this is true, is there a process for formally getting the rating tag changed from the D-rated values?

They are essentially the same vehicle with different badges and stickers. At least 23+ are. I considered one, but it had options I did not want nor pay for.
Now, I kinda wish I did order a 250. It would have cost me less to insure and tax.
Don’t know why you would want to change it, but the only way I know of would be to go to a Ford certified upfitter and pay them to inspect and verify your truck to confirm it is the same as a 350.

Hey man! Welcome to the Tremor club. To steer you straight on this, you're basically driving an F-350 in disguise—kind of like a Transformer. Here’s the breakdown to answer your questions:

1. Does it have F-350 suspension and axles?

You heard right! The Tremor package basically makes the F-250 and F-350 mechanically identical. Your F-250 Tremor is physically equipped with the F-350's heavy-duty rear axle, beefier leaf springs, and the extra overload spring that standard F-250s don't get.

2. Will it handle loads like an F-350 / better than a typical F-250?

Mechanically? Absolutely. Because you have the F-350 hardware underneath, your truck will physically manage bed payload and tow weights exactly like an F-350 Tremor would. It won't squat like a standard F-250, so you definitely have improved, real-world capability compared to a base F-250.

3. Can you change the GVWR payload sticker?

Here is the heavy truth: No. Once a truck rolls out of the factory and gets titled, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on that door jamb sticker is legally fixed. The F-250 Tremor gets a de-rated sticker (often to keep it at or under 10,000 lbs for cheaper registration and tax purposes in certain states). There is no legal or formal process to just get a new, higher-rated tag printed by the manufacturer.

Long story short: legally, you have to abide by the F-250 sticker for the DOT, but mechanically, your truck has the heart (and the spine) of a one-ton beast.

Enjoy it!

When factory built with Tremor Packages, both the F250 and F350 SRWs are nearly identical trucks.

The difference? Pay for an F350 and you get an additional 500 pounds' worth of GVWR on the factory data plate affixed to the driver doorjamb.

That's about it!

Dang. I just ordered the 350 because of this. Didn’t think about insurance. Lol

You can also have an upfitter de-rate your truck, I would think. That’s essentially what Ford did, but as the manufacturer, they can slap whatever number they want under the true GVWR.
