Hello Antiniodef and Gary, I am in the same situation where you were previously in removing my Jump Seat Work Surface. I just purchased a 2023 Ford F-350 XLT FX4 6.7L and would like you to please post the photos of your removal process for the Work Surface. I have removed the Work Surface but now am not able to remove anything else and I am stuck. I've removed the screws from the four cupholders but it seems like the sides of the existing plastic molded cupholders/tray that were under the Work Surface come off but I can't seem to find how to do it! Please see my photos below of the work that I have completed so far. This is a very frustrating project at this point. And yes, my dashboard warning message to "STOW WORK SURFACE BEFORE DRIVING" keeps popping up. Any help is most appreciated. Thank you and anyone else who can please help with telling me how to finish this project. -MarkS

I don’t have any pics other than what I posted. Remove the screws, and just pull. There are those plastic tabs with metal around them if I remember correctly.

The pop up will stop once you get that tray and disconnect the harness.

Hey Antonio -- THANK YOU! It turned out I took the truck to the local Ford Dealership service department who pulled up the assembly diagram on the computer and then printed me out a copy that showed the nine clips that you talked about (see the posted pix below). However, I FIRST was able to remove the Work Surface by sliding it off of the track, but then was stuck because I didn't know how to remove the "base" under the Work Surface. I'm posting a few photos that might help anyone else trying to remove/replace the Work Surface. There are also four Torx screws that needed to be removed from the plastic base as well. Here are some photos...but I'm no expert! Thanks again Antonio! -MarkS

This is awesome, just shows how the grass is always greener. Before I got my F250, I had a 21 F150 with the work surface jump seat and I loved it. I was so disappointed that it wasn't an option in 21 for the F250. So, I converted my F250 Lariat Tremor with split bench front seats to the work surface. I find it more comfortable height wise even with the hard surface than the lower standard flip up storage. To each his own I guess!

Good observation on the dash message. Short answer, no it won’t pop up.

Longer answer. There will be a 2 wire harness you unplug for it. I tested this before the swap to see if I needed to jumper it. Opening the workstation closes the circuit and causes the message. Unplugging the harness just leaves it perpetually open, and therefore never triggering the warning. The vehicle side connector will just get squished in the foam inside the back part of the jump seat.

Dismantling is relatively easy. Just start with pulling the little cubbies rubber bottoms out and you’ll see the screws. Once those are removed, it pops up with clips.

Maybe I mentioned it, but the only out of ordinary step is I had to remove the seatbelt from passenger side bottom of jump seat to get the sub assembly tray removed. Don’t let it fully retract, I’ve ready people had trouble getting it back out. I just put a zip tie around mine so it didn’t suck itself all the way in while I worked on the rest.

The plastic cover over the on the passenger side with the leather strap that covers the hinge is kinda delicate, just go slow.

Take some pics as you go. I’m terrible at remembering and really didn’t. Then you can post them here for anyone in the future.

The sensor on my work surface keeps going off when I have the seat in the upright position. Do I need to take the whole thing apart to replace the sensor or do you know an easier way. Thanks for the help!

Hi Antonio, Thank you for writing up the post on the work surface replacement. I really don't like that thing and used your list to get all the new parts!!

I am having trouble unbolting the jump seat seat belt.....any tips on doing that? Not sure what I need to remove or to get to it.

I unbolted the seat belt from the lower part of the seat, on the side, passenger side. It takes a little work to get to, but it's how I did it. There is a plastic cowling that has to be removed if I remember. Another member didn't remove the plastic cowling to get to the bolt, and just drilled a hole through the cowling.

I did mine a few weeks ago. I too gave up trying to get that plastic piece off and drilled a hole through it to get to the seatbelt bolt. You can't see it once you put it back together.

Thank you! I got the cowling off and see the bolt. I did crack the cowling as I pulled it off....so may be getting one more new part.
