Hey all, I am looking for a set of oem LED headlights for my tremor. I see I missed out on a set a little while ago. (As usual) Anyway I've been looking into the Morimoto XBs and while they have a great deal going on for the month of August, having to run a fuse tap is kinda off putting. Figured I would put the word out a few months before its dark at 4pm...

The fuse tap is no big deal. I agree the factory led lights are a better option, but they are far more involved to install and far more costly.

I'm not worried about the install, that is simple enough. I just don't want to hack the cover up and reseal it to keep it water tight. I will likely go with the xbs if I don't have any luck in a week or so.

What the going rate for a set of oem chrom led? I’d like to switch my chrome with a set of black. PM me and we will see if we can work it out. I’m in SoCal and willing to ship.

I agree, I used a dremel tool and made a round notch and used a cut rubber hose as a seal. I do see your point and agree with you though.

I am not exactly sure but believe it's around 3k or more for oems new. Not looking to spend anywhere near that as I can get the morimotos for half that.

@Explorerinil little off topic but how do you like the xbs? I know even a candle is better than the halogens.
They are allot better than halogens. I had the f150 leds and hated them, they blinded everyone and the high beams were terrible. The moriomoto’s are allot better with crisp clean light and a decent cutoff. Wig that said they are not as good as the ford factory led lights. I also have some Baja designs duel squadrons in place of my fog lights for extra lights.

Did you find a set of LED's? I have a set for sale.

@Explorerinil so the factory LEDs are better and brighter than the Morimotos?
I believe so, after comparing the two, the factory lights are much better built. With that said there’s nothing wrong with the Morimotos and i have not put a meter up to both lights to measure light output and compare them. If money was not an object, I would buy factory led lights and ballasts new from ford and buy a harness. But I don’t want to blow almost 4K on headlights.

I have one possible set atm. Trying to decide if I want to go the oem route and then get a harness and run the wires to the bcm or go with the morimotos and the fuse tap. Both seem to have their pros and cons.

The OEM worked great for the ~year I had them on the '21 F350. The only issue I had was fitting my fatness up under the dash to put five pins in the BCM. Luckily my wife is tiny. I have the lights with ballasts, a Black Flames wiring harness minus the pins and a foot of wire, and a bag of grill clips (because they go flying). ;)

We can close this thread, I ordered a set of Morimoto XBs headlights. I really wanted to go oem but it was substantially cheaper to go with the xbs. Plus this month there is a promo for free fog lights. I'll do a write up and install once everything is delivered.

Let me know how you like them. I looked at them first when I was trying to decide on new LEDs.
