Cancel order ???

Im the odd man here as Ive owned nothing but Rams since 1999. I absolutely love them and they keep getting better with each generation. What Ram doesn't have is a direct competitor to a Tremor. The Power Wagon is so off road focused that its soft suspension majorly compromises towing and payload ratings.

Im not sure what your intentions are with your truck, but if your a weekend warrior, don't hitch 20K+ daily, and don't plan to add tons more power aftermarket then the 68RFE will be fine. If you venture outside of those parameters then step up to the Aisin in the 3500. On the flip side, you definitely want to be towing heavy, and often, with that tranny to smooth out the shifts. It was not designed for light grocery getter duty.

Having said all of that, if you have your sights set on all of the benefits of a Tremor, then wait on the Ford as it simply has no direct competitor which is why Im here.

I can’t speak for everyone’s experience but can relay mine. Placed my order in April knowing it could take six or more months to get the truck. Both the staff at the dealership and Ford Marketing CSR’s have been courteous and professional. Only called Ford Marketing twice and the first call they had no information to provide. The second time the CSR was able to provide me with a VIN# and scheduled build week.

I’ve always owned Toyotas (six total). This is the first Ford I’ve ever ordered so I have no connection nor loyalty but I’ve been happy with the service. I think part of it is having reasonable expectations and understanding the people on the other side of the phone are human and can’t provide information that isn’t there yet. Just my two cents worth. If my Tremor ends up being as good as the customer service I’ve received thus far I will be on the road to being a loyal Ford owner.

Soooooo… Ford Marketing and Ford in general are kinda pissing me off.

The total lack of communication for a truck that costs 3x what I paid for my first house has me feeling a bit unappreciated.

Stopped by the dodge dealer out of boredom… That mega cab is kinda nice… Plus the storage compartments in the side of the bed.

So before I make any rash decisions, I figured I’d ask? What about a Diesel Super Duty shines above the Dodge?

My buddy has been waiting 6 months for his ram too.. Almost all manufacturers are in the same boat right now.

People act like if they dont have a min by min update on the truck ford isnt communcating. If you cant wait in this current market then buy the dodge and save a tremor for someone thats already waiting. Ford nor the dealer dont care it will still sell either way.

You have no cause to mock what you truly do not understand.

It is my experience that people in this position are responding appropriately to their situation.

Long time ram fan and recently switched to Ford and ordered the Tremor. Reasons: Diesel with Tremor, winch with diesel (have to buy a new bumper w/ram), panoramic moonroof, locking rear diff + limited slip on Tremor, power sidesteps w/mid level trim (ram won’t allow power steps with Laramie trim and blackout) & finally when ram release anything about 22MY?! And it appears the only update you get w/22 model is an updated cabin filter - woot woot.

It’s a diesel with more power. Most important the build quality of the Ford is better having worked in the industry

Ah yes, Ford has 1 diesel, but Ram makes you pay $12k for the HO diesel. Another plus 1 for Ford.

I laughed reading through this thread. I completely “get” the OP’s thought pattern about canceling. It allows some level of control in an otherwise uncontrollable situation, right? I mean otherwise we just sit and wait - and as many Americans - we kinda suck at waiting as a culture.

Someone else mentioned it’s a sellers market, right now. It sure is. If you want it you’re going to pay more, and as we see the CPI creep up it’s a trend that may continue. Good news is the used car market it beginning to crack at bit. However, that’s no so good with folks that were already planning to take it on the chin a little bit with trade-in values opposed to retails sales values to fund their Tremor.

I’ve been waiting for my truck too. Some days are better than others, but I don’t have a life that revolves around a truck. Sure, crap happens (like having to replace my engine in my daily and riding my motorcycle in the f*ing rain) while I wait for the truck - but that’s not Ford’s fault. I want to put blame elsewhere, but it’s just not appropriate.

In other worlds buying a vehicle in this price range gets you a lifestyle of a celebrity from the sales / manufacturing teams. It’s just no so with Ford (made worse by the supply debacle). Heck, European luxury sports manufacturers (not all) will fly your, now broke ass, to the assembly plant for a tour and glass of champagne to take a euro delivery. I didn’t get a train ride and whiskey for me in Kentucky. Ha! But Ford does not treat you like the patrons at the local strip club.

It is what it is. Every now and then things don’t go as planned. We all make decisions that are best for us and those who are important to us…even if it’s a RAM (really?). Life is short - do what you need to do to keep that smile on your face. That’s your responsibility to yourself. Don’t mess that up.

Good read. Nice pep talk. 😂

Not sure what happened to the OP, but they seemed to have gone silent on the topic of canceling their order.

Did you make up your mind? Ford Tremor (#1) or RAM (distant #3)...

LOL - still here. Just didn’t want to feed the trolls with all the negativity. There were some great comments about the “grass not being greener”.

I was not unhappy with, or unwilling to wait… I just try to give my business to companies who at least act like they care about their customers… I think it’s ridiculous that the bulk of the information we get on this forum comes from either another forum, or someone who has a friend that works for Ford. Just seems absurd Ford won’t actually be forthcoming with basic information. What is the “chip“ that everyone is waiting on? What actual supply chain issues are they experiencing?

In my industry, if I have a shortage, my customer knows exactly what it is, what I’m waiting on, and what I believe the impact will be.

The real frustration for me, came from the fact that I’m waiting on a new truck, and my existing warranty expired. Three weeks out of warranty my raptor started having a few expensive problems. I thought Ford might do some goodwill warranty, particularly, considering I would’ve had a new truck by now if it weren’t for the delays. Ford wouldn’t even respond to the request to me or the dealer.

So no, I’m not demanding instant gratification, just some basic information and a bit of customer service.

First time poster here (I have a tremor f350 on order) but when back and forth heavily with a Ram3500. Check HDRam forum and you’ll see there’s a dealer in Louisiana doing orders for 11.5% under MSRP. I managed invoice -$500 on my tremor order but the ram deal is double that. After testing driving both I decided on the Ford. The interior feels much bigger, there is perceived less turbo lag (diesels), and I like that the tremor comes with what I would do to the ram from the factory. The transmission felt smoother in the Ford 10 speed than the Ram SO Cummins. I think the Ford generally seems to have more problems then the ram. I have pretty good local dealer support with Ford though and I think all the Ram dealers around me suck. They’d be worse if I brought them a truck purchased in Louisiana. I don’t think you can go wrong either way though. The ram interior is a little nicer lariat vs Laramie but there’s a lot of buttons and distractions in their 12” Uconnect system.

Don’t ya hate it when you are played and “Ford” would not respond to the dealer & you fall for it

But the dealer said🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

There are no trolls here. There are some cantankerous conversations on occasion, but on the whole, trolls do not exist in this space.

They’re more a phenomenon experienced by the sensitive set and the feels crew.
