22 Tremor 6.7
Hi everyone,
I ordered a '22 F250 Tremor Lariat 7.3 Gas - Antimatter Blue, Black Appearance Pkg with moonroof, and carpet delete back in November '21.
After waiting 2 months and no VIN from Ford, I got tired of waiting and I went ahead and found/bought a similar '22 F250 Tremor 6.7 diesel.

Finally, the 7.3 gas just came in this weekend - the dealer is cleaning it up, and should be ready tomorrow.

I'd like to sell it to a Tremor enthusiast instead of letting the dealer keep and jack up the price. What I'm asking here is what's a fair price and is anyone in central Texas interested? I don't really have the time to buy it, wait, put it on autotrader, go back and forth with people wanting to test drive etc.

Pics are from yesterday at the dealer - it's still dusty as it just came off the truck but they're prepping it. 5 miles on the odometer.

There are people on here who just put in their orders prior to the order bank closing on the 1st. You may want to look at recent posts from last week and/or the 2022 order thread. Seems like there may be a potential buyer there...

You might want to be sure the dealer will even sell it in a scenario where it goes into someone else's name. They may not. I'd imagine most would not want to do so. Then, if you profit from the sale, there may be other legal considerations there.

Vehicle sales laws vary wildly by state. Thank unions, dealer networks, and manufacturers for lobbying to create those webs of difficulties in an attempt to stifle future competition! You'd be shocked how serious it can get, again varying a great deal by state.

While I'm sure most would say it's unlikely a state would pursue such a sale, I wouldn't be shocked if a dealer would make it an ugly thing. They're like starving dogs these days, some would happily eat their owner. States, many of them, much the same -- and they'd surely like to have the double-sales tax on a deal like that.

Best of luck (sincerely). I would be sure to understand how that will work with respect to the sales tax.

Legal carry weight not the same though.
Do you know the difference? I remember comparing the 250 Tremor to the 350 Platinum and i want to say there was only a few hundred pounds between them in GVWR.

Payload is where the real difference comes in, as I best recall -- the 7.3 F250 Lariat is going to be around that 3k mark and the same truck with a F350 badge on the side is going to come in around that 4k mark -- so about a thousand pounds of payload.

Whether or not that matters to someone is really going to depend on the individual.

In terms of legal towing capacity, the only people who it's really going to matter to are people who are hitting that max tow capacity of the 6.7 with a gooseneck. If I recall correctly.

Thanks to everyone here for the info and feedback. (y) I'd have to buy it cash, pay the sales tax and then wait for someone that was willing to buy it from me. Maybe not a bad idea since ordering has dried up. I'm extremely happy with my diesel Tremor I got instead and will let the dealer just have this one - I'm sure they'll sell it in a day or two.

I saw this truck today, it looks really nice in person! :D

Then there is the used dealer license:

As I mentioned -- you might really want to consult an attorney as they might have some advice that will save you money and headache. Usually a consult is free or less than a couple hundred bucks for something like this.

Maybe nothing about what you are doing is wrong. But I'm just saying, I'd check. There literally might be some obscure form out there where you can fill it out and pay no sales tax and literally sell it like it's a new truck. Who knows.

Off topic a little bit but how long did it take to arrive in at the dealership ? I'm in central Texas and I am scheduled for production next week. Thanks

With the current price of diesel, I'd keep the gasser unless you are towing heavy regularly.

I ordered in November and it arrived this weekend. My production date was week of March 14 so about 2 1/2 weeks after that it arrived.
