BED EXTENDER FIT/NO FIT?

Just following up for anyone who is interested. @Molinote sent me photos of his (the newer version that doesn't require any modifications to fit the '22s) and it's the same shape as the old one. After some google searching it appears Ford did just use / continues to use an older stock photo of their bed extender from over a decade ago. I honestly don't know why they don't go back to this more squarish design because as @BroncoHooves said it looks like it would allow a lot more bed extension space. Here's an article covering the (very) older design if anyone is interested.

Anyone ever get one on a 23-24?

I kept my (rounded) bed extender from my '21 F150 (that had the threaded inserts). My 2026 does not have the threaded inserts. I'm going to pull the taillights and try to install it with nuts/washers on the inside. Will advise. Waiting for my Bedrug to show up before I do that, though, as I want to get the height correct.

If you want the ability to remove without having to pull the lights again, a nutsert may work better.

I recently installed one from my last truck. I’d advise to get new tailgate retainers before pulling your taillights. Here’s the part number since ford decided not to list it under the vins of the new trucks!

I used a nylon washer the a fender washer and nut to secure mine.
