Hey all, looking at bedcovers for the 2024 I recently bought and wondering if the knockoff market has caught up enough to be worth trying. Looking at all the usual suspects, Bak, Retrax, Extang, etc, I’m left wondering if they are worth the cost versus what’s out there for half the price right now.

Unfortunately marketplace near me doesn’t have much available right now. I’m also leaning more towards a trifold versus retractable. Looking to move to Colorado after North Carolina and my guess is the retractable options are not great with ice or snow on them when you need to retract them.

what's is your spending limit? We may be able to point you in the direction of sales, fairer priced items, or some used covers near you.

I’m looking at $600-$800 or so. I’ve had lomax on the last two F150’s and have been very happy with with them. I’ve gotten them through their outlet though so with quite a bit of a discount.

RC TriFold hard cover is an option. I think they're around $675.

Here are some I've read great things about:

Worksport
Made in USA
Slightly outside your price range at $999, but offer payment plan options. 2 year warranty.
Coupon code of $50 off OWNIT50-5F3XG

Tyger Auto
They are on Amazon and have a few different models ranging from $250 (soft tri fold) to about $900.
5 year warranty.

I hate how the folding covers block your rear window when folded. Just something to think about.

I've had their soft roll up covers on 2 of my trucks. not sure about snow load and they don't offer a ton of security other than keeping stuff out of sight. otherwise, great cheap covers.

I’ll take a look and also see what pops up on Black Friday sales. Thank you for the suggestions.

I will say that in the last 4 years of f150’s, there was only a handful of times I really needed the full bed and removed my lomax cover. I imagine the same would go for folding up the cover all the way. I do agree though, annoying to block that back window or to rest against the cab.

Gator Back makes some; my paw in law got the retractable one for 8-900, it was made OK. It does not compare to my Retrax manual retractable; the bearings, slides, and brake are far superior in Retrax, its also almost double the price. He like his, does a good job. though.

I have had Weather Tech on my last two trucks and happy with them. I think a little more than you want to spend though.

They have a huge store and warehouse just down the road so it was easy for me to just pick it up.

Also just above your price range, but with military discount does approach the upper range.

Diamondback Outlet Switchback
An attractive discount. Unfortunately you can’t add the military discount on top.

That is a good cover. That is the same as Lomax as weather tec just rebrands it.

Rough country cover is fine
