7 Pin Inbed trailer plug install

That's probably just what I should have went with. Now I'm past returning the one I have. Hahah.
Is there anything by the bumper plug that has something similar? My truck had the fifth wheel prep, but I remember I had to swap out the plug on the bumper to the backup assist version or whatever it’s called and I seem to recall it had the “y” connection like the one in the pic above. I just can’t see why they would have a totally different base wiring harness for those with and without fifth wheel prep.

If you have a gander at one of the photos you can see the plug that goes to my bumper. There is nothing to tee into it's joins right into a larger harness.

Okay I would ask this : Take another pic of this area as circled in red. Lie under the truck in the center line. Face outboard to the driver's side and take the pic. Maybe even hand trace where those connections lead to on the truck.

Additionally any other pics need to be of the passenger side frame / trailer receiver mounting points, not the driver's side.

Can anyone enlighten me or offer a few insights (maybe an install video) into how this is mounted in the box of their truck. My 2024 didn't come with the in box plug or trailer prep, but I want the plugs as I have my truck setup with a fridge and want to run 12v back there and not use my solar battery till at camp. It didn't come with hardware or any instructions and I want to be sure it's done proper and as factory as possible.

Thanks.
T

I'm in the exact same situation. Any updates?
Bought this in-bed harness awhile ago thinking it would plug right in. Got under the truck today and can't find anywhere to plug into, that is based on the instructions that I had to track down since the part didn't come with it.
I have a Lariat Ultimate with the 360 cameras, trailer camera option shows on the screen, and has the backup assist knob...so I think it's got what's needed however the truck doesn't have any prep package and "Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System (UTT)" isn't something on the window sticker, which the instruction sheet says is necessary. Did some research and this doesn't seem to exist as a specific feature anymore, supposed to just need 360 camera and trailer backup assist for this harness.
I'm wondering if this harness is needed for this? It has a replacement for the 7/12 pin on the bumper, I see the connector for the 12-pin is available under the truck but it won't connect with this harness. I'd like to get the TPMS and camera set up on the trailer and possibly backup assist, but probably wouldn't even bother using it.
Instructions: https://www.fordservicecontent.deal...Tire_Pressure_Monitoring_System_TPMS_Kits.pdf

Also noticed I can't find this in-bed harness on the Ford parts and accessories site anymore, which is a bit strange, even if I go to my past order and click on the link to the page it goes nowhere. The parts pages have very little details, just finding the instructions for this thing is a mission in searching. Nothing it clear with any of these accessories, it's almost like you have to buy it and keep your fingers crossed that it works.

@The Dude : You use the harness on the trailer, not the truck. Showing what you bought is not for the truck bed 7/12 pin connector for inside the bed gooseneck/5th wheel trailers. It's just for any connections after the bumper 7/12pin connector.

By what the instructions note your 12pin should already be there. Just pull out the old 7/4 way, install the 7/12way, drop the spare tire, locate the 12pin connector with the dust cap, remove the dust cap, connect to the lower 12pin connector. Done. Now connect the harness to your trailer.

There may have been some confusion in my post. Bought the in-bed 7/12 connector and harness the OP posted about, I didn't yet buy the trailer one I posted the links for. I do understand that that one is only from the truck bumper to the trailer. It does come with the 7/12 for the bumper so at least it'll get me connected to TPMS, camera and all that but it still won't get me the in-bed connection. Looks like the best I could do with the current truck set up is the 7 pin in the bed with the Y connection harness and the 12 pin from the trailer to the bumper connection. The in-bed harness we got isn't going to work since the connectors aren't there for it. Image attached are the connectors. I can find a matching pin connector that's being used already, nothing for the blade connector is there, anyways not going to plug it in just because it fits. Not sure why the in-bed harness isn't just a 7 pin Y connection and a separate 12 pin connection what's available on the trucks already.

@The Dude : Did you check along the passenger side frame area?? Seems as Ford changed the connector locations for this stuff to the passenger side versus the 20-22 MY trucks. I think dropping the spare is going to help you.
Do you have the 7/12 connector on the bumper already?

I dropped the spare and checked everywhere I possibly could and finally gave up. There isn't a set of connectors hanging there (not that I can find anyway). So unless someone with a 2024 Lariat (Like mine) has successfully installed this and they are taped up in a strange location, I don't think this is possible on my rig.

Yeah, check all up in that passenger side frame well where the 3 bolts are, consistent with the instructions. Had the spare out and was rolling around on my creeper for quite a bit looking.
I don't have the 7/12, I have the 7/4 on the bumper. I'll need to get under there again and find the 12 pin connector.
Last resort I could still use the harness and splice in the matching wires or run an extension for the 12 to the in bed along with a Y split connector for the 7 pin.
My brother works for Ford and is looking into it for me as well with some of the dealerships he works with that may have encountered this. Will update if I hear anything.

Did you ever figure this out? I’m looking to install the 7/12 into the bed. Tired of having them hang over the tailgate. Can’t find any info on it though. Trying to do this on my ‘22.

Nope. No plug on my truck. Went with the curt version that tees in on the rear bumper plug.

I figured it out. My ‘22 Tremor Platinum came with the Pro Trailer Assist package. I picked up a factory Ford harness, part # LC3Z-13A576-F for $212 shipped. It allowed me to keep the 7 way plug/12 pin on the bumper and have an identical one in the bed. For anyone else wondering if this harness will work on your truck, look underneath the rear drivers side for these harnesses with block off plates circled in red.

You have confirmed that it seems it would have needed to be built with Pro Trailer Assist to have that harness already there.
