7.3 liter mpg

Did 225 miles today. Finally cracked 3000 miles total. 90%+ hwy and had the cruise set on 75 the entire time. Total round trip was 13.2. Best hwy mileage I've ever gotten. Did not use eco mode and had 87 in it.

Here is a non Tremor F250 7.3l light towing mpg for comparison.

Saw this vid today and was like, nope. If I'm keeping my truck for at least 6 years or 100,000 miles (warranty period), the diesel will surpass any "savings" I would of thought about on the 7.3 - not that I considered it at any point while I was contemplating actually going for the Super Duty. I still can't believe I actually did it.

First 1100 miles, all on 93 octane.

75% highway, 25% city driving.

AVG 11.8 MPG.

I ran a tank of 93 through mine. Didn't notice any difference in power or fuel mileage. 93 is $.80 more than 87 here. If there was any improvement in mileage, I don't think it's near enough to justify the premium price.

Probably not. I usually fill it up when I am getting fuel for my 4 wheelers and tractor, so I just use the same 93 nozzle instead of making 2 transactions :)

Ok went for a drive with the wife today. Did a big loop from Corpus Christi to Rockport to Port Lavaca and did a loop back to Corpus Christi. About 215 miles and with mostly highway, 70%. Filled up with 16.9 gallons. This is what it looked like before refilling. Driven mostly on eco mode, unloaded.

The truck estimated 12.9, I calculated about 12.677, not too far off.

About 70mph average on highway, up to 80 mph at one point, RPM was about 2100-ish. Impressive with the 10speed. Mileage only goes up the more conservative one drives.

Just got back from a LA to Vegas round trip, 85 mph (most of the way) 87 octane. 610 miles and I averaged 11.9 mpg.

Anyone tried the no ethanol 87 unleaded? Pricier but supposedly better.

I’m getting right at 13.9 7.3 Trermor 4:30 with 1400 miles so for-city/hwy combined

Still rocking 11.8 MPG with daily driving duty. But hey, it's a big truck. I didn't buy it for fuel efficiency :)

Another trip to El Valle...south from me. The trip was a hot one...got up to around 98F, if not higher. Calculated 12.65 mpg, the truck calculated 12.8mpg. Drove mostly highway on eco mode between 60-78mph. Some city/town when arrived at destination.

I just towed my 21’ open bow boat back from the river 205 miles. I got 10.2 mpg doing 65mph. Hit a nasty headwind in Palm Desert about 30-40 mph. Felt like a 100 mph. I am sure I would have seen a lil better without the wind. But I’m on 37” tires so I guess it’s not bad.

What’s the difference in non eco driving?

I can't really say. I've been using ECO mode almost the entire time, since it comes back on by default.

Let me clarify that. Once you put it in ECO mode, when you turn the truck off, the next time you start it you get prompted to resume ECO mode.

Got it. Would be an interesting experiment...

From what I've noticed when driving in eco mode it appears to shift earlier, doesn't hold gears as long, keeps RPM as low as possible. Seems like the throttle mapping is much less aggressive vs normal mode. When leaving from stop lights I notice that in eco mode I'm really slow vs everyone else driving along side me. If you drive it around town you'll notice how much more placid it is.
